PLEASE READ THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT CHANGES IN OUR PASSWORD PROTECTION, COMING
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 7th!
THEN KEEP READING TO LEARN ABOUT MORE GREAT UPDATES RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!
Information Security is a vital practice, and one which is particularly relevant within our industry. In order to offer you
we have an obligation to keep our security practices rigorous and up-to-date.
means that you are not only receiving the most accurate, clear and concise results available, but also ensuring that your reports are protected in the most secure system possible.
As part of our continued emphasis on system security and protecting you and your employees' data, we are excited to announce the implementation of multi-factor authentication (MFA), also referred to as two-factor authentication.
This new enhancement will give your screening a
ccount an additional layer of security by asking you to enter a randomly generated code, which will be sent to you via text, email or online app when you access the Occuscreen system. You may already be using an MFA process on other sites requiring upgraded security, such as online banking. This authentication can prevent unauthorized access to your account via a stolen password. In fact,
statistics show that over 80% of data breaches can be prevented simply by enabling multi-factor authentication.
To make this new process a simple and smooth transition for all users, each code will be stored on your computer or device for a set period of time after you log-in. You will not be required to enter an additional code each time you login to the system. You will only be asked to login with the multi-factor authentication steps when:
- it is your first time logging in on your device,
- on occasion, as the code expires, or
- if you have an IP address change (logging in from different locations).
How will MFA work within the system?
For all existing users within the system, the following screen will appear when you log-in on
Wednesday, March 7th.
Depending on the selection made, the system will require you to enter your phone number, email address or scan a QR code within an authenticator app of your choice (ie. Google Authenticator). Based on the selection, you will retrieve/enter your code, and then continue to enter the Occuscreen, LLC screening site as normal.
Moving forward, your MFA settings will be saved in the system. All users will have the ability to change the MFA settings at any time, from the profile tab within the system.
While this security enhancement will have a huge impact on the protection of your account and the personal information of your employees, the impact on your user experience is minimal. With this said, if you have any questions or would like access to the trouble-shooting guide we have prepared, please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 888-833-5304
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work together to make the changes necessary to protect your data!
