RESPECT. Aretha Franklin’s Musical Journey with Civil Rights

She was the powerful voice of a generation and beyond. Franklin spent the turbulent 60s building her career. In 1967, she released her most famous song, and one that became inextricably linked to the civil rights & feminist movements of the time. Through rousing live musical performance and integrated video projection, RESPECT tells the life story of the anointed Queen of Soul. Sponsored by The Ocean County Library Foundation and The OceanFirst Foundation Arts and Cultural Grant.

Children can meet and play real instruments! Join us in Mancini Hall at the Toms River Branch for five musical programs with professional musicians from the Garden State Philharmonic and Youth Orchestra. Presented in partnership with Kiwanis, Music & Arts, and the Garden State Philharmonic.

Prom Dress Drive & Giveaway 2019

D onate a formal dress or tuxedo and give a student the opportunity to join their friends at a memorable Spring Dance. Donations can be made at any OCL location.

The Prom Dress Giveaway event provides dresses to middle school and high school aged students at no charge so they can attend their school’s dances. For students grades 8 through 12.

Introduction to the Irish Language presented by Colm Keegan
Multi-award winning singer and teacher Colm Keegan will present an Introduction to the Irish Language one of the courses available on his online school CKonLine. Participants will learn phrases, basic communication and practice together in a fun, entertaining environment.

Ocean County Library welcomes Colm Keegan, formally a principal singer with Celtic Thunder , during his cross country tour in support of his solo debut cd I’ll Never Be Alone . A Dubliner born and bred, Colm Keegan, has entertained audiences around the world. This one of a kind, special event fundraiser is sponsored by the Ocean County Library Foundation through a OceanFirst Foundation Arts and Cultural Grant.
