President's Corner
We are so close to seeing each other again, I can feel it! We have a few ribbon cuttings and grand openings on the horizon and, with warmer weather, we can gather again outside safely soon. Hang in there!

I can, happily, announce our Al Fresco Community Expo will be at White Horse Park on Saturday, May 1 from 9am - 1pm. (Rain date of Saturday, May 8, 2021) This format worked out perfectly last September for us. There was great traffic as we were alongside the OP Farmers Market and had beautiful weather. For more information and to reserve your space click here. We are seeking event sponsors as well.

We are getting back on schedule with our annual Business Directory. Our 2020 edition moved well. It was included in an edition of The Courier and mailed directly to residents in Ocean Pines as well as placed in high traffic areas in our region. I am restocking often. Never fear, COVID can't stop us from promoting the great services you provide to our residents and visitors! We will begin reserving ad space for our 2021 edition soon.

As visitors return to our area and your operations continue to modify and adapt, stay in touch! Never hesitate to contact us with a concern or idea for how we can best support you and our community. As always, stay well and stay engaged.

My name is Mark Bargar and I am the owner of Covenant Contractors. My family and I live in Berlin, off of Cathell Rd.

Covenant Contractors has been serving local residents since 2006. We are a home remodeling company that provides interior and exterior renovations. Much of our work is completed in Ocean Pines, though we do a good deal of work throughout Berlin, Ocean City, and Selbyville as well.

We do all phases of home improvement including, but not limited to: decks, porches, sunrooms, kitchens and bathrooms, window, door and slider door replacement, flooring, painting, additions, sheds, and siding. As I oversee each project, my goal is to continue to build my company and be known for the solid craftsmanship that is put into each job. My son, Adam, works by my side daily and is an asset to every job we complete; and my wife Karen aims to offer the best customer service as she works out of our home office.

We look forward to working together with you and to a great year in 2021.

Thank you,

Mark, Karen, and Adam Bargar

The Ocean City Spring Trade Expo
Upon conducting and reviewing exhibitor and attendee surveys and holding countless hours of discussion, the Ocean City Hotel-Motel-Restaurant Association Board of Directors has concluded that it would be impossible to host an in-person Expo in early March. Rather than cancel altogether, the Association realizes the importance of continuing to unite the hospitality industry and will launch the 47th Annual Spring Trade Expo in a slightly different format.

Partnering with OC Today Newspaper, the 47th Annual Expo will feature EXPO MARKETPLACE, an easy to use, online, interactive catalog designed to highlight new products, show specials, and make sourcing simple. Additionally, Facebook Live Power Panels featuring leaders and influencers and live Q & A sessions will be held on March 8th and can be accessed by logging into www.Facebook.com/OCTradeExpo. These sessions will be recorded, posted on this site, and emailed on March 9th.

Since 1974, the annual tradeshow has been bringing together hospitality buyers and sellers and has been a mainstay in Ocean City. Additionally, it is a main revenue source for the small, non-profit Association, so all support is welcomed and appreciated!

Learning with Procino-Wells & Woodland

What a year! I know we are not alone in stealing that sentiment. As we approach the anniversary of transitioning into quarantine, we find ourselves reflecting on all we have been able to accomplish in the past year.

Some people say a podcast is best recorded in the closet, so when restrictions kept us from working in the office, we decided to heed the advice! We had a long-standing goal of creating our own podcast but had not yet made ourselves stop and sit down in front of the mic. Off the Clock is a podcast full of easy to understand information about estate planning and elder law. Most segments are less than 20 minutes long and are available on all major podcast apps, or our website.

Our robust in-person seminar schedule shifted to webinars and although we miss seeing our neighbors in person, we have remained focused on the silver linings. Implementing tools like GoToWebinar have given us the benefit of having professional recordings of our educational content. Now, not only can we provide information at the scheduled date and time of an event, but we can share recordings with families or professionals that need the information but were not available at the scheduled time.

Our team has embraced all the new protocols that allowed us to safely come back to the office in person – and train two new team members! It has been fun to introduce two new faces to our clients. Additionally, we are actively hiring for an Associate Elder Law Attorney and a Real Estate Paralegal. Please share! We do still miss serving our trademark cookies and are hopeful for the day they return.

Procino-Wells & Woodland, LLC is an estate planning and elder law firm. Our large and growing team serves families statewide in Maryland and Delaware through virtual platforms or out of our offices in Seaford and Lewes, DE. Our website provides a complete list of upcoming events, valuable educational articles, and videos to help local families learn how to plan today to protect their family’s tomorrow.
