Fireworks & Drone Celebration July 3

We're hosting an incredible fireworks and drone display on Thursday, July 3, 2025, in celebration of Independence Day and Oceanside's 137th birthday (July 3, 1888). The fireworks and drone display will begin at 9PM in the heart of Oceanside at the SoCal Soccer Complex at El Corazon. Gates to the event open at 4:00 p.m. and there will be family-friendly activities, music, and food trucks.

Mission 55: Semper Seau Legacy Camp

Calling all Oceanside kids from 5-17: Join us on Saturday, July 5 from 9 a.m. to noon for the Mission 55 Semper Seau Legacy Camp! This FREE high-energy football camp is all about building skills, confidence, and community. Participants will receive top-tier coaching focused on fundamentals and competitive drills — all in a supportive environment. This camp is proudly hosted in honor of Oceanside’s own, the legendary Junior Seau — a symbol of heart, hustle, and hometown pride. The registration is capped at 350 participants to ensure a focused and high-quality experience.

Expanded Recreation Scholarships

The Oceanside City Council recently allocated $131,250 to provide additional scholarships for low-income youth to participate in recreation programs. These expanded scholarships will increase the annual scholarship allocation to $300 per eligible child, with an additional $250 per eligible child specifically for summer camps. For more information about eligibility and applications, please call the Parks and Recreation Department at (760)435-5041 or email RecAdmin@oceansideca.org.
