On Indigenous People’s Day, WILPF US will look at the unlawful testing of nuclear weapons on indigenous lands, the long-term impact on the health of native people and on the sacred lands entrusted to their care.
Ian Zabarte, Principal Man for the Western Bands of the Shoshone Nation of Indians is our guest presenter. He is very clear about the legacy of nuclear weapons mining, manufacturing, and testing on the people of the Southwest and the Great Plains and discusses what actions can be taken towards justice.
WILPF US’s own DISARM Committee members will discuss actions they have planned for the rest of this year and into 2024. Announcements of upcoming events at the issue committee, national and international level will be timely and important.
