KauaʻiCC receives gift from Chan Zuckerberg Kaua‘i Community Foundation Fund

Kaua‘i Community College accepted a generous gift from the Chan Zuckerberg Kaua‘i Community Foundation Fund of the Hawai‘i Community Foundation. This support comes at a crucial time as many of our students face financial challenges in their pursuit of higher education. This gift will help ease their burdens, allowing them to focus on achieving their academic and career goals. We extend our deepest gratitude to Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg for their dedication to building a more inclusive, just, and healthy future for all.

Mahalo for your unwavering commitment to our community!

PRISM Club showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Friday, Nov. 22 | 7 p.m. doors at 6:30 p.m.

PAC

The PRISM Club is proud to present, for the first time on Kaua'i, a full participation showing of the cult-classic feature film THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW at the Kaua'i Community College Performing Arts Center, a joyous celebration of the queer community.

THIS IS NOT AN EMCEED EVENT--No floor show, virgin sacrifices, or shadow cast this year!

The Rocky Horror Picture Show (RHPS) is not so much a campy 1975 musical comedy as it is a cultural phenomenon. Don't just "dream it" --"be it" and come join us for an inclusive evening of fun. Costumes are welcome and partici...pation is fully encouraged. Prop packages ("Stuff to Throw"), containing all the items you need to participate (and instructions if you don't know how), are available for purchase at the same time as ticket purchase. All proceeds from this event will go to the PRISM Club to host other LGBTQ+ friendly events on campus, provide LGBTQ+ education and advocacy at KCC, and fund the club's participation in the annual Kaua'i Pride Parade.

PLEASE SHOW RESPECT FOR THE THEATER: no rice, toast, confetti, glitter, or water guns.

CONTENT ADVISORY: THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW is a rated R film, containing mature content unsuitable for young children, homophobes, and the faint of heart, including sexual themes and coarse language. While we cherish RHPS as a landmark film for the queer community, we also want to acknowledge the problematic plot points around consent and the portrayal of transgender individuals that are a reflection of the world as it existed in the 1970s.

This event is officially sponsored by the University of Hawai'i Commission on LGBTQ+ Equality.
