Oct 19, 2023

Dear Calvary Friends,

Grace and peace to you in our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ.

Thirty persons attended (in-person and on Zoom) Calvary’s Prayer Service for Peace held in the Childs Chapel on October 12 at 6 PM. As we follow Jesus’ example of a committed prayer life, may we continue uplifting prayers for peace throughout God’s created world.

What a wonderful Laity Sunday we experienced last Sunday! Thank you to everyone who led a part of worship. We are blessed to have such willing congregation members who so graciously share their God-given gifts. Also, during worship we celebrated as children, third grade and older, received their Bibles from Calvary.

Last Sunday’s faith-to-life application homework asked us, this week, to consider the many ways we experience God. Through the experience of God in Tracy Leahy’s miraculous great-nephew Jace, Don Ogburn’s feeling of God’s guidance throughout his life, and Martha Strong’s faithful witness of God’s presence always leading her, we have glowing examples to consider within our own life and living.

This Sunday, October 22, 2023, Matthew 22:15-22 and 1 Thessalonians 1:1-10 will be considered as we learn about Reflecting God’s Love. Thanks be to God!

Grace & Peace,

Pastor Linda
