Greetings youth and families.

We hope this email finds you well. Last night in youth group we had an intro to apologetics lesson and talked about worldviews. We started by talking about what the Christian worldview is and how that impacts how we see and interact with the world. We went on to discuss some of the other worldviews and we thought through how those worldviews would impact engagement with the world. We also read together Romans 12:1&2 where Paul encourages us to not conform to the world. I invite you to find time to ask your youth what stood out to them about this lesson.

Youth Community Expectations Form

We are still missing some signed paper copies of our HBIC Youth Community Expectations form. We've handed out printed forms and plan to continue to have them available. Parents and guardians, please read this over with your youth and then both youth and parent/guardian need to sign the form and return it to me. Find that form here if you'd like to print your own copy at home.

"YOUTH GROUP NIGHT"

The HBIC youth are spearheading another special night, called "Youth Group Night" happening Saturday October 24th from 5-8pm! "Youth Group Night" will be hosted at HBIC, and we have invited several other local youth groups to join us! We will have large group games, smaller group game options, pizza, snacks and also a worship set. As the hosts, we will be asking our youth to arrive by 4:45pm (if they're able to) to help welcome our guests from other churches. We're asking our youth to bring a side dish or dessert to share. Our youth are also helping to lead the worship set. We are looking for more musicians to help lead! We're really looking forward to this event! Youth planning to attend, please register below.

SENIOR HIGH RETREAT - MOMENTUM

All youth in grades 9 through 12 are invited to join us for Momentum! Momentum is a high school youth retreat for the Atlantic Conference happening November 13th - 15th and will again be held at Kenbrook Bible Camp. The cost of the retreat to our HBIC youth is $75. (The actual cost per youth is $149 and HBIC will be paying a portion of each youth's registration cost.) The cost covers food, lodging and all of the activities.

Registration is now open! This year, you will register through us (HBIC) and we'll be passing along our registrant info to Kenbrook. Please register your youth via the first link below. Additionally, we will need a printed and signed copy of Kenbrook's Consent and Release form for each participant (linked in the second button below). I plan to have printed copies of the release on hand in upcoming youth gatherings to send home. Please register by November 4th.

YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL CHANGE

We are reminding everyone here, we are shifting Youth Sunday School to only 2nd and 4th Sundays. One hope with the change is to encourage the growth of our youth in being a part of the service regularly for the sermon as well. For October and November, we're shifting to 1st and 4th Sundays for youth Sunday School.

With the upstairs area approved for occupancy, youth Sunday School will be meeting in the common area (open space in the middle) of our newly finished upstairs! Currently, the path within the church to the upstairs is not accessible to the general public, so we will again be meeting in the lobby to walk upstairs together via the outside.
