Welcome to Lakeville!

What a beautiful living community. At Suite Living, their mission is to create a compassionate, faith-filled environment

that helps each individual achieve their highest level of physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Yes, SUITE is an acronym for Serving. Unique. Integrity. Teamwork. Excellence.

FYI from CareerForce

When a company is laying off people, is there a way for other companies to talk to the impacted individuals? If the company filed a WARN notice, then there is public record of the lay-offs. CareerForce locations may have some restrictions as to what information they can provide to other organizations. However, there is nothing to stop you from contacting the company doing the lay-offs and asking if you can meet with people who are being laid off.

Good Work Lakeville!

We did lunch!

It’s that easy – come as you are able, order off the menu, pay your own tab – and spend your lunch hour connecting with fellow business professionals! You gotta eat, why not do it with some new friends! Thank you to Lakeville Brewing Company for the warm welcome!

Next month...

Thank you Dr. Van Zyl

Thank you to Dr. Van Zyl for spending time with our business community at State of the Schools today - giving us updates on all that is happening at Lakeville Area Schools – building projects, levy questions, program updates, and more. Thank you to Holiday Inn for your hospitality, and to all of our program sponsors!

New video: DLI has also posted a new video that gives an overview of the earned sick and safe time law. It's also available in Somali and Spanish

versions.

Another Chance to hear from Dr. Van Zyl - 8am Friday!

If you were not able to attend State of the Schools, you have another chance to hear from Dr. Van Zyl this week. He will be giving our monthly Access & Issues Group a recap of the presentation at Friday morning’s meeting. Lakeville City Engineer, Zach Johnson, will also be joining us to give an update on the Pedestrian Crossing study the City recently completed. The Access & Issues meeting is open to all members and is held the 2nd Friday of each month at 8am via zoom. We have guest speakers and hear around the horn updates from the City, Schools, County, and our elected officials. If you would like to join the meeting, and get on our monthly reminder email list, email me.

After more than 40 years, an eye-catching oddity has been removed from it's perch above Interstate 94, just north of downtown Minneapolis.

"I have a freeway, right here along Interstate 35, so I'm thinking that will be kind of an addition to my little thing here, going on," said Jake Hood, owner of Hot Sam's Antiques, in Lakeville. "Basically, I'm a junk man with a sense of humor."
