I know them, and they follow me."

No Principal Meeting Tomorrow!

If you are using the google calendar that was set by the School Office please know that updates are currently being made. There is NO Principal Meeting tomorrow October 3rd at the Chancery.

October is RESPECT LIFE month!

Here is a great resource with some ideas of how your school can support this initiative.   https://www.respectlife.org/catholic-education.

Share with Sherri Hennen pictures of your school celebrating Respect Life Month so she can share on social media! Check with your parish if there is a Respect Life committee and how you might partner with the committee.

Teacher Retention Bonuses

Principal’s, by the end of the week you will receive a form that indicates who we have identified as your Full Time and Part Time K-12th grade teachers who are eligible for the retention bonus. You will need to sign off on this form and return it to the Catholic Schools Office by October 13, 2022!

Diocesan PD Day October 14th

Make sure that you and your staff are prepared to attend the Oct. 14th PD Day at St. Pius for Elementary and High School (1500 NE 42nd Terr., KCMO 64116) and St. Patrick for ECC's (1401 NE 42nd Terr., KCMO 64116). The day will begin at 8:30 am with socializing and networking and the sessions and keynote speaker will begin promptly at 9:15 am. Lunch will be provided.

DESE Non-Public Registration

The Nonpublic Registration has begun! Please be sure to create a spreadsheet capturing your October 1 enrollment and student addresses. This is the data you will work with for this year’s Registration. I am asking everyone to complete their registration by November 15th, to allow me time to review registrations for errors and to ensure that all information is complete. ALL schools (k-12) must complete the registration to be eligible for Federal Programs. If you have any questions, please reach out. I am always happy to assist you with this.

If you have not yet received your letter from DESE (by mail), you can access it here - https://dese.mo.gov/media/pdf/letter-nonpublic-school-principals-and-administrators-october-2022

There will be a DESE webinar Wednesday, October 5, 2022, 9:30am - 11:30am.

ACRE Test

Just a reminder that the testing window for the ACRE for our 5th, 8th and 11th grade students is November 7-18th.  You will need to go to:

https://www.nceaifg.com/home.aspx?pagename=Login and log into your NCEA-IFG account and on your dashboard page there is a button to order your testing materials. IF you test online - you get results immediately! DON’T order tests until after October 15, 2022, as they have a new test effective that day!

Class/School Visits to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception

Michelle Reichart is the Pastoral Associate at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Catholic school classes are invited to visit the Cathedral to get to know the spiritual home of our diocese. Daily Mass is held at 12:15 pm, Monday through Friday. Bill Blankenship, a longtime volunteer, is available to provide a tour of the church’s architecture, artwork, and local history. Dr. Mario Pearson is available to provide a demonstration of our beautiful organ. If a class would like to bring lunch, we have a conference room on our lower level that can seat approximately 50 people.

If principals or teachers are interested in this opportunity, please contact mreichart@kcgolddome.org or 816-842-0416 x113.

IOWA Flex Training

THANK YOU all for coming to the 1st day of training. We hope that it was beneficial for your schools. I hope that each school has a plan on how they will share the information with the rest of your school on how to use the reports, what each report tells us and how to begin to use this information to make good instructional decisions for the students in each class! Please let the CSO office know if you would like to have us come out and meet with your teachers to discuss ways to use this data in the classroom.

Iowa Flex Training Follow Up Survey

Please have each person that attended the training on 9/27/22 complete this survey Thank you!
