Thank you so much to the Southampton Stop and Shop and the Southampton Elementary School Community Service Club for hosting a food drive for us this past weekend! We have been struggling to have enough food to provide to families each week.  Community food drives are essential to ensuring no one in our community suffers from hunger.

For the past three months we have served more families than we've seen in those same months ever before. In the month of October, we had 630 visits to the food pantry and provided 22,934 meals to our community. This year we will provide more food to local families than any other year in our

42-year history.

With the holidays quickly approaching and the hard winter months upon us, we can definitely use more help and more support! We gladly accept food donations on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10AM-2PM. If you would like to sign up to be a volunteer in the pantry, click here

Please consider donating today to help us feed our neighbors in need this month and beyond.

We invited all of our food pantry customers for a Mom’s Day Out at the First Presbyterian Church of Southampton

Moms were treated to free haircuts courtesy of volunteer hair stylists Tiana Vignola, Richard Ferrera, Hannely Cruceta from the Tiana Rose Salon, plus Anne Ramunno, Fanny Espejo, and Luz Marina Forero.

We provided clothing and coats for men, women, and children - all beautifully organized by volunteers Catherine Stoll and Anne Ramunno.

Volunteers Pat Miller and Pat Pellegrino helped serve a delicious breakfast and give out gift bags packed with essential care items to each mom.

We were so grateful to have other agencies attend to introduce their amazing programs and services to our clients. The Island Harvest community outreach team helped families sign up for food entitlements like SNAP and WIC. The Retreat domestic violence center and Project Hope attended to give information on their vital free counseling services. Centro Corazon de Maria provided sign-ups for English language and parenting support classes. The Rogers Memorial Library staff was on hand to help families sign up for library cards, learn about incredible free children’s programs, and introduce their new social work intern helping with all kinds of needs.

Our Assistance Program provides a whole network of services for those in need in our community - including seniors, adults, children, and veterans. We work very closely with local businesses and organizations to connect people with the resources and support they need. A sudden illness can cause devastating financial consequences at times, and we are so lucky to be able to step in and help.

Here are a few examples of what our Assistance Program was able to do this month:

  • Helped a homeless senior find a place to live and move all of his belongings.

  • Provided home heating deliveries for seniors and young families waiting for HEAP to open.

  • Paid a month's rent for a single mom working full time and going to school for her masters degree.
