October 1-7, 2023
This year’s Banned Books Week theme is: “Let Freedom Read!”
The American Library Association’s Past President Lessa Kanani’opua Pelayo-Lozada wrote that this year’s theme “captures what’s at stake for our democracy: that the safety of our right to speak and think freely is directly in proportion to our right to read.”
The next time you stop by the library, or access our digital collection, check out the Banned Books displays and celebrate your freedom to read!
