Friends' Mini Book & Bake Sale

The Friends of Tiverton Libraries will host a Mini Book & Bake Sale on Saturday, October 16th, from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Stop by to browse our collection of books for all ages, including novels, cookbooks, and nonfiction books. Plus don't forget the delicious baked goods! 

The sale will take place in the Library’s Community Room and, weather permitting, on the front porch. The event will adhere to current Reopening RI COVID guidelines.

Note: This book sale will allow us to clear our backlog of donation inventory. We are not accepting donations at this time.
Museum Passes
Take advantage of the Friends of Tiverton Libraries’ Museum Passes for free or discounted admission to local attractions, like the Audubon Society Education Center and Blithewold in Bristol.

The Audubon Environmental Education Center in Bristol has an exhibit hall, live animals, and a tide-pool tank.

The library pass admits up to 2 adults and 4 children under 18.

Visit the 45-room Blithewold mansion and its public garden located on Bristol Harbor.

Our library pass admits up to 6 people at $7 per person. Kids under 17 get in free!

Attend one of these drop-in sessions to get started with Libby and the Ocean State Libraries eZone. We will go over signing up, browsing the catalog, and checking out items in Libby. Learn how to use the Ocean State Libraries’ digital collection to check out ebooks, audiobooks, videos, and more! 

Attendees will be required to wear a mask for this event in the Learning Center.

Knitters, quilters, and crafters: come craft with us in the Community Room on the first Wednesday of every month! Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, you are welcome to come and work on your own projects while socializing with fellow enthusiasts. Get project ideas, ask questions, and share tips and advice. Must bring your own equipment and supplies.

Learning Circle: Foundations of Mindfulness

This learning circle provides a broad overview of the fundamental concepts, principles, and practices of mindfulness. With interactive exercises to help students explore their own attitudes, mental habits, and behaviors, Foundations of Mindfulness offers a pathway for living with more freedom, authenticity, and ease. This peer-led study group format is a great way to get together with others to study a topic you are interested in!

Open daily in the Children’s Room all month long!
Recommended for ages 3–10

Visit the activity tower in the Children's Room to stock up on a variety of fun seasonal activities. We will fill the tower each week with a variety of paper crafts, puzzles, and games. New activities will be added every Saturday!
Storytime Stroll

Recommended for ages 2

Stroll around the Library Lawn and read a picture book. Enjoy a new story each week. At the end of your walk pick up a craft kit to make at the picnic tables or to bring home.

BOO! Who are You? A Treat Trail

Recommended for ages 310

Not-so-spooky shadows have invaded the library pumpkin patch. Can you match the book character to the shadow? Walk the pumpkin trail around the library to play the game and collect treats along the way. Costumes are welcome and reservations are required for this fun family event. Please bring a container to collect treats. There will be a variety of treats available, including allergy-friendly candy and non-edible surprises.

Saturday Storytime Stroll

Recommended for ages 2-8

Begin your reading adventure any time between 10:00am and 2:00pm. To participate, walk around the outside of the library and read the pages of our silly story. At the end of your walk, receive a special treat and a craft kit. Craft kits can be completed at home or at the library picnic tables.
