"Thank you Denise for your hard work in saving us money with our recent purchase." Kathy
Hello dear friends and clients,

I hope this finds you and yours well. I have seen many of you over the summer and I hope to see more of you this fall. I'm so looking forward to Halloween and the holidays (see my Camp Lang table decor). Normally, the fall real estate market calms down but it appears that the market is going to continue to stay hot (click here to read).

We are not unlike many rural areas that have seen an influx of city folks who are making the break to county life. We anticipate buyers will continue to be interested in our market; however we still have an inventory challenge. If you feel it is time to sell, contact me. We'll get your property listed, sold and find you a new place, too! My experience, consistent record and excellent negotiating skills will successfully lead you toward a sale at the right price.

Now, let's look at some stats.
From our entire multiple listing service, we show a steady rise in closed sales from a year ago (even throughout the winter)
8600 sales in September 2019
9760 sales in September 2020
The only level off was between May and June of this year probably due to Covid 19 concerns. Even in that brief leveling off, closed sales were at 9041.

With that said, I welcome your calls, text or emails. The Lang Team is here to make your real estate dreams come true whatever they are, wherever you are. We'll have dinner and talk. (I have an in with the local sushi joint).

Stay well, stay safe and let's make your dreams come true. See you soon.
Denise

Denise's Cooking Corner - Pork Tenderloin with Salsa Verde

INGREDIENTS
One 1 1/2 pound pork tenderloin
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
2/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
1 cup fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves
1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
1/4 cup chopped fresh chives
1/4 cup fresh tarragon leaves
3 shallots, sliced
2 garlic cloves
Crusty bread, for serving

DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Sprinkle the pork generously all over with salt and pepper. Heat 1 tablespoon of the oil in a large oven-proof skillet over medium heat until very hot and then add the tenderloin. Cook the pork, flipping occasionally, until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes total. Transfer the skillet to the oven and roast the pork until just cooked through, or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the pork registers 150 degrees F, about 15 minutes. Let rest for 5 minutes.

While the pork roasts, put the parsley, cilantro, vinegar, chives, tarragon, shallots and garlic in the bowl of a food processor and pulse until the herbs are minced. Slowly drizzle in the remaining 2/3 cup oil with the motor running until you have a thick sauce. Season with salt and pepper.

Slice the pork tenderloin and spoon the salsa verde over top. Serve with crusty bread for soaking up all the juices. I like to use Blu's bread. It's the perfect texture and flavor to compliment the spicy richness.
Denise's Book Corner - Dracula by Bram Stoker
Here’s a great book for Halloween! The story brings to mind one of my favorite paintings, “The Nightmare” by Henry Fuselli, painted in 1781, a full 116 years before Bram Stoker wrote “Dracula.” We all know the Dracula story, which is fictional. However, you may not be aware that Stoker created this character after a real person who also had a taste for blood, Vlad the Impaler, Prince of Romania and famous for his cruelty. Vlad was said to line the road to his castle with his impaled victims providing a grisly warning to all who approached. Aside from Vlad, Bram Stoker drew on popular Central European folktales about the nosferatu (“undead”).

He wrote the novel as a collection of realistic but completely fictional diary entries, telegrams, letters, ship's logs, and newspaper clippings, all of which added a level of detailed realism to the story, a skill which Stoker had formerly developed as a newspaper writer. The representation of good and evil and a sense of the ungodly are a metaphor for the force of righteousness that seeks to stamp out evil. My favorite message in this book is the conflict between modernity and the ancient world. No matter how advanced the modern world's technology, there are some things, such as evil, that it cannot destroy. It reminds me of challenges that we now face. It's a fun book to read for the upcoming All Hallows Eve!
