I thought it might be helpful to share some 4-session studies we have available,
along with our usual Book of Faith Advent options.
Please skim through and read what is relevant to you.
Bishop Eaton's Four Emphases Bible Study
From the introduction to this study, "the intent of this Bible study is to encourage exploration and discussion of ELCA Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton's four emphases by delving more deeply into Bible texts related to each emphasis using the four lenses of the Book of Faith methods of Bible study. Each session also offers additional questions for reflection and a variety of ways to engage each emphasis. There are also links and resources related to the session emphasis."
The Four Emphases?
1) We are CHURCH.
2) We are LUTHERAN.
3) We are CHURCH TOGETHER.
4) We are CHURCH FOR THE SAKE OF THE WORD.
ou can download both the Leader's Guide and the Participant's Guide.
As I look through this study, I believe it would be a great way to start the new church year for any congregation. This study could guide your congregation into a year of Biblical study, as a church together for the sake of the world.
