Wrap-up and Implementation
No longer a live, in-person event on October 8th!
Bad News: Sadly, because of the surging numbers of COVID cases in our Diocese, we will no longer meet in-person at the Green Bay Distillery on October 8th for this event.

Good News: The event will be held online (via Zoom) over the courses of several weeks. Same topics, same presenters:

  • October 8 (1-2:30pm): Julianne Stanz and Joe Tremblay on "Real World Applications for Adult Faith Formation: Reinterpreting the Experiences of Life in the Light of Faith" [will tie in the ways in which adult faith formation in light of the new Directory can impact RE and YM (think catechists, parents and chaperones) and how RE & YM can better support or collaborate with adult faith formation.]

  • October 15 (1-2:30pm): Elisa Tremblay on Real world implication on family ministry [in light of what's been presented last week on the new Directory) what RE & YM programs in our diocese can do to better support, engage and involve families in our parishes]

  • October 22 (1-2:30pm): Maximus Cabey and Callie Kowalski (w/cameo appearance by Tommy Nelson) on Real World Applications for Religious Education & Youth Ministry in our Diocese
More Good News: There'll be a working Retreat offered in Spring (April?) for catechetical leaders and youth ministers who would like to work on applying some of what we've learned in the new Directory to Fall 2021 programs.

Details about October 8th: If you've already sent in payment for October 8, it will be returned/refunded to you. If you used a credit card, the charges will be reversed on same card.

Are you looking for a way to engage your parish/students in a conversation about race?
We know that initiating and leading these conversations can be intimidating, so we want to help. We are excited to announce the launch of the Open Wide Our Hearts Virtual Exhibit. This exhibit features photos of Catholics from various racial and ethnic backgrounds, alongside written narratives that document what life in the church of the Diocese of Green Bay has been like for them as a person of color. The virtual exhibit is ready-made for you to use with students, families, or parishioners to begin having the difficult but important conversation about issues of race.
"WOW! The virtual exhibit is amazing! The website is clean and simple. I love how the photos are the focal point to draw us in and then we can click on each one to dive into that person’s story." --Recent online visitor

An Updated Document from Safe Environment
Use the link below to access an updated FAQ for Safe Environment Training requirements 2020-21 in the Diocese of Green Bay.

For the safe environment training for children we are encouraging schools and RE programs to include the required training early on in the curriculum to hopefully avoid the large number of children that did not receive any safe environment training due to the onset of the Corona virus in spring.
What about Steubenville Summer Trips?
Dear fellow workers in the vineyard, considering the:
• uncertainty of out-of-state-travel
• increase in costs of transportation & housing due to social distancing requirements
• budget limitations due to COVID-19
• no-refund policy of Partnership for Youth. . .
our office will unfortunately not be able to offer our usual Steubenville mini-trip to St. Paul, MN next summer.

If your parish is wishing and able to organize an independent trip (on your own or in collaboration w/other parishes) to the St. Paul conference, we would encourage you to weigh your options carefully based on the considerations above and do what will be best for your parish and students.
We are waiting on updates from Franciscan University before deciding the fate of the Extended Trip.

We eagerly and prayerfully look forward to the day that COVID-19 is a distant memory and we can plan and organize large out-of-state pilgrimages again.
