Student Loan Workshop; Ophthalmics Procedures Course

The ALOA is offering a course on ophthalmic procedures taught by faculty members of the Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry (NSUOCO). The course will be held on January 26-29, 2023 at the Embassy Suites in Hoover. There are 32 credit hours available for the course and it is limited to 50 people.

Student Loan Workshop for ODs

On August 24, the administration announced the extension of the federal student loan payment holiday through December 31, 2022 along with a $10,000 student loan forgiveness to borrowers making less than $125,000. Join AOAExcel Wednesday, November 2, for a live event aimed at answering these student loan questions & assisting AOA members in navigating the end of the student loan payment re-start.

Topics Include:

· How ODs can position their student loans during interest rate uncertainty

· What the federal student loan payment & interest pause means for ODs

· Explanation of the new federal student loan forgiveness as it pertains to ODs

· What is student loan refinancing – are you eligible? Could you save by refinancing?

Will refinancing affect your credit score?
