Our Moral Imperative: A Post-Chag Reflection

The Sukkah, a temporary structure, reminds us of the tenuous position that many throughout the world find themselves, facing housing and food insecurity, due to natural disasters and other circumstances.

Daf Yomi with Dr. Jesse Hefter

Adult Learning at Temple Emanuel is offering a
Sunday evenings from 7:45-9:15pm
10 sessions for Fall-Winter 2018-2019:
Oct. 14, 21, 28, Nov. 4, 18 Dec. 9, 16, 23,
Jan. 7, 21.

The group will study the world's Daily Page of Talmud covering topics related to borrowing and lending objects and animals between people, hiring workers, acquiring property, and neighborly relations. As always, the Talmudic material often intertwines non-legal narratives about Jewish culture, spirituality, and philosophy
This Daf Yomi course will be led by Dr. Jesse Hefter of Brookline who is past President of the Synagogue Council of Massachusetts (SCM) and has been the instructor for several years in SCM's popular Daf Yomi weekly study program. This Fall-Winter Daf Yomi Talmud Course is being jointly sponsored by Temple Emanuel and the Synagogue Council.
