Good Morning All,
Last month I wrote;
Import Amino Acids have started to climb. I believe domestic manufacturers will be announcing price increases on Amino Acids soon.
Since last month: Most import and domestic suppliers have increased their Lysine prices by 4-5 cents per pound. Import Threonine has moved up 3-4 cents per pound. Tryptophan has become harder to get. It briefly went down and then bounced back up. Methionine has stayed the same but as mentioned last month some foreign suppliers may be hit with a penalty in the very near future which may increase Methionine significantly. Read more about this below in the best reads last month area.
Surprisingly Ajinomoto has not changed their prices along with the other manufactures. Good for PALS and you. We have excellent prices. Can I quote Lysine for you?
There is a lot of talk about; the impact weather has had around the world, the repopulating of hogs in China, the increasing freight rates. In the past one of these factors would trigger the increases we have recently seen. The question is if we have three big impactors are we just waiting for the two others to hit us. It seems being heavy on inventory right now might be a good idea.
I’m looking for a little help in moving some Elanco products. We bought them right, but with the Hog Market as it is they have been a tougher sale this year. Give me a call, “let’s make a deal”
