Charles "Chad" Holloway deployed to the Persian Gulf with the US Army, in combat support of Operation Desert Shield, Desert Storm and Operation Provide Comfort from November 1990 to June 1991. During combat operations he was with the 3rd Armored Division. His unit led the left hook, trapping the Iraqi Republican Guard as they fled back to Baghdad. Chad had to walk through anti-personnel minefields three times to fix broken tanks, once unintentional, and twice knowing it was there. His unit evacuated Kurdish refugees and helped build defensive barriers around Kuwait after the ground war.
Chad then returned to the USA at Ft Bliss, Texas and received 14S Avenger (an Air Defense Artillery weapon) crewmember training. The Avenger had eight Stinger missiles on two pods mounted on a Humvee and was used to shoot down enemy aircraft.
By June of 1995, after seven years of active duty, Chad left the U. S. Army and joined the California Army Nationa Guard in California. The next year he transferred to the California Military Department.
He was called to a second combat tour during Iraqi Freedom in 2005 serving for a full year. He then returned to Camp San Luis as NCOIC of the Security Forces. In 2012 he retired from the California Army National Guard and joined the California State Guard. Finally in 2018 he retired from the State of California, bringing to an end of over 30 years of uniformed service to our great nation.

Congratulations to Toni Moore on her retirement! Anyone that has stopped by the Estrella Warbirds Museum Gift Shop in the past ten years or so has surely met the manager, Toni Moore. She's always been quick to smile provide excellent customer service. Toni has not only managed the gift shop, but also volunteered behind the scenes, taking charge of setting up and decorating for the monthly dinner meetings. Plus, there's more! She has always been a fixture handling the raffle prizes at Warbirds Wings & Wheels over the years and has served the museum as a member of the board of directors.
Toni has been a life long open wheel race fan and was instantly mesmerized by what she saw on her first visit to the Woodland Auto Display! The automotive display have had had a major affect on her, but thank you, Toni, for having a huge affect on so many visitors, volunteers, and for adding your personal touch to many parts of the museum over these last many years! You are greatly appreciated!

World's Fastest Sprint Car
If you are going to race and build a Sprint Car and your primary sponsor just happens to specialize in engineering with titanium, what a better way to insure you get noticed, but to build your racer incorporating as much titanium as possible. While everyone else is utilizing heavy duty steel, you can rest assure that your vehicle might be a tad bit lighter! Read more about this unique sprint car at this link.
Driven by Steve Chassey, the Dowker/ Soltow car became known as the "Jet Rod Special", backed by Jet Engineering Company. Not only were many of the engine components made from titanium but also much of the suspension parts as well as all the nuts and bolts utilized.
Not only was the car lighter than most for its' time, but this 1978 Sprint Car Roadster set one lap track records for the fast high banked paved tracks in the midwest. It also carved out fastest track records on the paved tracks at almost every distance.
