Time flies. So doesTroy Wollman! Way back in March of 2016, Troy and Jenn Bauman, whom were students at Cal Poly SLO, gave a talk to our museum about a glider club they started called Akaflieg-SLO.
Since then, Troy has graduated from Cal Poly, received his Masters Degree at the National Test Pilot School in Mojave and a job with Virgin Galactic early in 2021. He serves as a Guidance Navigation and Control Engineer. As an avionics team member, he has been working on flight controls systems, handling quality control and crewed simulations.
He is a young man moving up fast. For our October dinner meeting, Troy will fill us in on his career and and where he wants to go in aerospace.
Just a reminder for attendees: there will be a great assortment of raffle items available. Dinner is catered and open to the public ($20/person), reservations are required prior to 6 p.m., Monday prior to dinner, either On-line HERE or call 805 296-1935. Dinner price: $20/pp.

Dry Creek Road Update
We have seen a whole lot of dust blowing through the air around the museum for the past many months. The good news is that it has started to subside. The better news is that Dry Creek Road, which runs between Airport Road and Jardine has been repaved after considerable excavation while the city installed new underground services prior to replacing the old roadway. It's now almost completely finished! No more traffic redirects in front of or heading towards the museum! Just in time for Warbirds Wings & Wheels weekend!

Restoration crew has been hard at work on a frame up restoration of a Burma Jeep, Bomb Carrier. It's quite amazing to watch all the detail work that goes into completely stripping a vehicle down to the bare frame, refinishing the frame then work their way back up to where a vehicle exists that looks like it was fresh off the original factory floor. Yes, it takes time, but the end result is well worth it! In many ways these World War II vehicles are a whole lot easier to rebuild than modern vehicles. No computerized engineering nor modern conveniences which are now an intergal part of modern day vehicles. Another great job from the restoration crew is in progress!

Featured at The Woodland Auto Display

You can always find something new at the Woodland Auto Display! This month we are proud to introduce and new "working member" of the Woodland staff, and completely rebuilt 1970 C-30 Chevy truck converted toa custom Ramp Truck/Car Hauler. It's shown holding the beautiful Edmunds built King-o-Lawn Sprint Car - loaded and ready to go down the road!
This is one of the latest additions to Woodland Auto Display. It is a 1933 Ford Pick Up which belonged to our own Larry Eastwood, (Vic's Cafe and EWM). This was his pride and joy for years. It is exceptionally clean and somewhat unusual as he opted to retain a Ford Flathead as opposed to most being converted to later model Chevy or Ford ohv engines.
As an aside, we also have Kenny Colwell's 1937 Chevrolet on display. As you may know, you used to hardly ever saw one of them without the other around the Paso Robles area. Thus, we felt it only fitting to have their two beautiful street rods displayed side by side within the Auto Display..
