Ahhh! October!

Things are really hopping here at the shop! So much new yarn, so many events and classes, I'll keep my remarks short in order to keep this newsletter from becoming long.

We Have Started a Waiting List for The Bus to the New York Sheep and Wool Festival at Rhinebeck, NY, Saturday, October 21st!

If you already are signed up for a seat on our bus and have not yet paid for that seat, please call or stop by the shop to pay in order to guarantee your seat on the bus. Otherwise, we will be sending you an email to ascertain whether or not you seat is available to someone on our waiting list.

A New Learn to Weave Class with Keith
3 Sundays
October 22nd, 29th and November 5th
1:30PM to 3:30PM
Cost $75.00 for three sessions
Class is limited to 5 students

Join Keith as he take you on a new fiber adventure!
This beginning weaving course is designed for beginners and weavers who want to refresh their weaving skills. You will learn the different parts of the loom, making a warp, learning to dress a Schacht Cricket rigid heddle loom, and the basic weave structures. Students will learn weave structures like plain weave, basket weave, basic tapestry techniques, and finishing techniques. If you are feeling adventurous, you can choose to use a variety of yarn textures, and colors. You may also choose to stay with 1 or 2 solid colors to create your beautiful weaving. Weavers will walk away after this three day class with a beautiful scarf. You will need to pick a plied yarn for your warp, but you may choose single yarns to weave with.
Materials you will need are scissors, tapestry needle, worsted or DK weight yarn. You will need approx. 300 yards for your warp, and approx. 300 yards for your weft to make a 60”x14” scarf.
Learn Needle Felting with Katie Pfenninger
Saturday, November 4th from 1PM - 4PM
Cost $25.00

Learn the technique of painting with wool while making this enchanting sheep scene. Katie has always thought needle felting to be a fun way of making art and she is very excited to share this technique with others. No water is needed for this process. No water = no mess and a great process to do at home!
Kits are available for class materials. Kits include 9x12x2 felting foam, felting needles, ½ batt of Malabrigo Nube for sky, ½ batt of Malabrigo Nube for ground, natural wool for sheep, brown wool for sheep.
Kits are $30.
