Holy Donuts-
It’s Portland, Maine
Jim Waechter, Moderator

Carrie Dahm, from the NACCC office, and myself flew to Portland, ME in late September to meet with Rev. Seth Jones, Chairman of the Host Committee and his host team to plan for the 2020 NACCC Annual Meeting & Conference. The Host Committee is made up of members from several NACCC Maine and Massachusetts churches.

We also met with the Holiday Inn By The Bay hotel staff and a representative of Visit Portland , the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. It turns out Portland, ME is the prefect site for the 66th Annual Meeting being held Saturday, June 27 through Tuesday, June 30, 2020 and our celebration of the 400th landing of the Pilgrims.
The downtown hotel, where attendees will stay, is an easy walk to many historic sites, restaurants and interesting things to do. While there, we stopped at Holy Donuts, a local “institution” serving donuts made from potatoes, well worth several return visits. In the months ahead you will hear much more about Portland, Maine, and our upcoming annual meeting. Put it on your calendar.

NACCC Board of Directors
Rev. Dr. Cindy Bacon Hammer, Chair, Board of Directors
Did you know that the Board of Directors (BOD) has subcommittees and has representatives on committees other than those under the purview of the BOD?

The Finance Committee works on the annual budget. They collect information and requests from all parts of the NACCC and put them into a cohesive whole that is brought to the board. The Personnel and Administration Committee creates and approves job descriptions and reviews our Executive Director annually. The Building and Loan Committee processes requests from local churches who need extra help to build an addition or fix a roof. We also elect representatives to The Congregationalist Editorial Advisory Team and the Congregational Investment Trust Oversight Committee

We are a busy bunch! And, we do all of this hoping that the work we do will bear fruit for not only the NACCC, but also each local church that is a member of the NACCC. That means you! May your ministries be blessed and your churches flourish for the glory of God and with the love of Christ Jesus, all the while being led by the Holy Spirit!
