Click Here to Sign Up for Your Slot Please note that dates are listed as Tuesdays on our Sign Up Genius because recordings are due on Tuesday.
If you have any questions, please contact Barbara Babbitt at or Jeff Markay at
We are hoping that you can send in one or more videos that can be filmed in a few seconds on your smart phone:
1) A video of you dropping a leaf, and saying what you'd like to let go of. For some this might be: worries, anxiety, resentment, sadness, old hurts, old failures, or even "the year 2020!" There is no wrong answer.
2)A video of wind chimes that you may have outside your home, or in your neighborhood.
3) A video of you, and or your family looking in the camera and saying: "Peace be with you."
Please take these videos holding your phone in a horizontal position so that it takes up the whole screen when edited. Please add one or two seconds before and after you speak so that it can be edited in with other videos in the online worship experience.

Please sent these videos to Jeff Markay at, or text the video to my cell phone: 973-769-5266.
Charge Conference 2020
Friends in the congregation,
Every year, each local United Methodist Church has a Charge Conference or Church Conference meeting to do the administrative work of the church.

“The charge conference is the basic governing body of each United Methodist local church and is composed of all members of the church council. All members of the charge conference must be members of the local church. The charge conference must meet at least once per year. The charge conference directs the work of the church and gives general oversight to the church council, reviews and evaluates the mission and ministry of the church, sets salaries for the pastor and staff, elects the members of the church council, and recommends candidates for ordained ministry." (Source: conference)

Our District Superintendent Rev. William Williams III has scheduled our zoom Charge Conference for Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 6-6:45pm. A Charge Conference includes members of the Church Council with full voice and vote. If you have any agenda items that you would like the Church Conference to address, please contact Church Council Chair Carolyn Palma at and cc:

Sunday School is welcoming new friends to join our active groups! Zoom log-in info for the following online classes will be emailed at the end of each week. If you would like to be added to the distribution group or have questions about which class is right for your children, please email Karen at

PreK / Early Elementary: Sundays at 9:30am on Zoom. Last week we were surprised with Karen’s unexpected hairdo and then celebrated God’s unexpected blessings with a new song and a dance party. We also came up with ways we can share God’s blessings even during COVID19. This week’s topic: Doubt. What happens when Jesus invites Peter to join him as he walked on water. Though walking on water was pretty cool, this is really more about faith and how doubt is a normal part of an active Christian life.

Submerge (4th-8th grade): Sundays at 10:30am on Zoom. We continue diving deeper into some familiar Bible stories with “13 Very Bad Days, and how God fixed them.” This week we’ll look in Exodus 14 to see how God came through with a plan when Moses was caught between a rock and a hard place.... or an army and a wet place! Have a Bible, a couple sheets of paper, some scissors, and an adult button-up shirt handy.
Submerge / Tween Time: Thursdays at 4:00pm on Zoom. Time to hang out, play some games, connect and help each other thru this time of social distancing.

Confirmation: Sundays at 11:45am on Zoom. As we wait for the time when we can return to the sanctuary for you to confirm your faith before the congregation in a Service of Confirmation and Membership, we will continue developing our ideas of faith together with the other high school youth of the CUMC community. We will also occasionally gather separately to work on individual faith statements and plan our eventual worship service.

High School Discussion: Sundays at 11:45am on Zoom. Last week we pondered the origins of the universe and Christ’s role in creation, among other deep thoughts that came up in A?k Because Your Questions Matter. With input from experts around the world in areas of Origin, Morality, Beauty, and Destiny, A?k challenges us to personally think about the grand questions of human existence, understand our own faith, evaluate different worldviews, develop skills to defend and articulate our beliefs, and get to know God more personally.
This week’s topic: Cause and Effect - The universe around us is filled with a stunning order that implies a first cause.
The Chatham UMC Ukulele Orchestra will meet again for their next online sing and play-a-long THIS Saturday, October 3rd at 11:00 a.m.! For ukulele music and/or more information please contact Peter Hill at
