Pick up Bags: Scouting for Food

Bags are ready for pickup! Scouting for Food collection will take place Saturday, November 9. Stop by the Long Beach Scout Shop anytime to get your bags and reserve your collection area. Patches available for $1.
FAQ Follow up to Insurance Fee

Last week we announced an Insurance Recovery Fee to recoup increasing insurance costs. We received a few questions that we hope to answer. Take a look here. We hope this provides clarity.  
Scouter's Key Fall Newsletter

Keep an eye out for the Fall 2019 edition of the Scouter's Key! This newsletter went out by mail to all families last week. Read online version here. Dates and happenings for the next few months included. Extra copies available at no cost at the scout shop.
Last Chance: Camporall 2019

Next weekend October 18-20 - one of the biggest campouts of the year. Even Snoopy will be there this year. Prices go up again in 5 days! Open to Scouts of all ages 5-20, siblings, and family members too.

Saturday, November 23 - All Scouts are invited to check out this annual display of Scouting memorabilia. See info here. Patches, scarves, pins, hats, and more will be available to view and trade.
Background Check Authorizations

Earlier this week you probably received an email from the National BSA office alerting you to fill out an additional background disclosure. All adults must fill this out to be registered for 2020. See FAQ page here.  
Silver Beaver Nominations

Nominations are open now through October 31. The Silver Beaver Award is the highest recognition a council can bestow on a volunteer. See prior recipients. Nominations come from fellow volunteers like you.
