Recruiting!

Reading at Mass

Do you ever wish you could Lector at Mass? Do you wonder what it takes to be a Lector? Do you yearn to participate more actively in the liturgy? As you listen to the readings do you feel the call to liturgical ministry to proclaim the Word of God? If you have answered yes to any one of these questions, please contact

Maggie Cyphers, Director of Worship at mcyphers@cathedraloftheassumption.org.

Lectors are needed for all four Masses held at the Cathedral every weekend and also at our daily noon Mass.

In honor of Respect Life Month, we will be hosting the annual Baby Bottle Boomerang to support the life-saving work of Little Way Pregnancy Center. For over 40 years, Little Way has served the women and families in this community - offering free medical services, love, and support for those facing unexpected pregnancies, parenting classes, baby closet items, and support groups for single mothers and fathers, as well as help for those in need of healing from a past abortion.  Empty baby bottles will be located in the back of the church on the weekend of October 11/12. Pease return your bottles filled with donations on the October 18/19 weekend. All proceeds will benefit the life-saving work of Little Way. Thank you for your support.

The goal for the Cathedral for this year's 2025 Catholic Services Appeal is $126,500 and the participation of at least 161 households. View the video below that encourages us to give hope to all as we join our prayers and gifts with others across our archdiocese to meet critical needs. If you have not received a CSA appeal in the mail, you make pick one up in the pamphlet rack in the back of church.

The annual Festival of Faiths returns Nov. 12-15, 2025, to the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, where deep thinkers, spiritual teachers and movement makers will explore the interconnectedness of all people and the world we share. Festival offerings include compelling speaker sessions, diverse spiritual practices, workshops, evening entertainment and receptions, along with an interactive plaza featuring art, education, music and movement opportunities.

This year’s festival theme, Sacred Belonging, will investigate ways to cultivate communities of care, foster solidarity through empathy, and resist cultural systems that sow discord. In this time of great division, this work has never been more important.

Learn more and get passes/tickets at FestivalofFaiths.org — and discover a joy that honors our differences as we seek true belonging.
