Dear Parents,
In the garden of Eden, Adam and Eve were created in God’s image and invited to create culture and cultivate creation.
When I think about the garden I am reminded of the artists’ studios or bottegas of Renaissance Italy. Here young artists were apprenticed to master painters to live alongside them and learn to create like their masters. The master painter would draw a simple sketch called a “cartoon” on the canvas, and the apprentices would each take responsibility for painting parts of picture that they had learned to render. They might handle clouds, or fabric. Only the master would paint the faces and hands of the principal subjects and put the finishing touches on the scene. We see this in the angel painted by Leonardo Da Vinci in the painting of the Baptism of Christ by his master Andrea del Verrocchio.
So too, Adam and Eve were invited to dwell with God in the midst of His Creation and learn to develop their own capacities and creativity in the image of their Father.
The formation of your children is so much more than imparting information. It is in the routines of life together in community, like the young apprentice artists, that children grow in their capability and character.

ECA ATTENDANCE POLICY AND COVID-19 SYMPTOMS DEFINED
As we enter the months when colds and respiratory illnesses are more frequent, please take a moment to review ECA's regular attendance policy, the definition of specific symptoms, and how they will be handled.
Regular attendance protocols regarding health and school attendance are still in effect. Students and staff with a fever (100.4 or higher), vomiting, diarrhea, or diagnosed contagious illnesses must stay home and will be sent home if symptoms present during the school day.
Additionally, students and staff will be placed under the COVID-19 attendance policy if they exhibit one (1) or more of the symptoms in group A OR two (2) or more of the symptoms in group B.
Group A symptoms (1 or more):
- Persistent, dry cough
- Shortness of breath
- Difficulty breathing
- Loss of or limited sense of smell
- Loss of or modified sense of taste
Group B symptoms (2 or more):
- Fever defined as 100.4 or higher (measured or subjective)
- Chills
- Rigors
- Muscle aches/soreness
- Headache
- Sore throat
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Fatigue
- Congestion or runny nose

MASK REMINDER
Thank you for your continued cooperation and support to ensure that your children are wearing a properly-fitting mask that covers both their mouth and nose.
Remember, students are exempt from wearing a mask only if you have provided a medical excuse stating that wearing a mask over the nose and mouth would be detrimental to the student’s health.

ECA BRANDED MASKS
We are pleased to offer Eden Christian Academy families the opportunity to purchase approved, ECA branded masks. The masks are multi-ply, cover the nose and mouth, and are available in several colors. They can be purchased individually or in packs of five.
Orders will be delivered approximately 2 weeks from order date to your child unless you indicate that you wish the order to be held at your campus office for pick-up.
We are happy to partner with Instant Imprints Cranberry in service to our families. Please note that this is not a fund raiser and no profit on sales goes to ECA.
