If you have people and situations that you would like lifted up in prayer, please email them to: and indicate whether you want the prayers to be confidential, or shared with the greater Chatham UMC community.
The scriptures and prayers that are being shared this week for you and your communities are below:
A voice says, “Cry out.”
And I said, “What shall I cry?”
“All people are like grass,
and all their faithfulness is like the flowers of the field.
7 The grass withers and the flowers fall,
because the breath of the Lord blows on them.
  Surely the people are grass.
8 The grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of our God endures forever.”
Isaiah 40:6-8
We are part of that Word of God.
We are part of that rhythm of grass growing and withering, flowers blooming and dropping their petals, trees growing leaves and letting them go…all part of the Word of God that endures forever. All part of the paschal mystery.
We are One in the Cosmic Christ, the Word, the Creation of God.

“If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to
each other.” Mother Teresa
Creator of Heaven and Earth,
as the trees turn, let go of their leaves, and trust,
help us to do the same.

Youth, Kids, and Music News...
Sunday School is welcoming new friends to join our active groups! Zoom log-in info for the following online classes will be emailed at the end of each week. If you would like to be added to the distribution group or have questions about which class is right for your children, please email Karen at

PreK / Early Elementary: Sundays at 9:30am on Zoom. Last week we learned that God loves us all in ways that at times may not seem fair but are always generous. This week’s topic: Abundance. We’ll learn about Jesus’ first miracle and how it demonstrates there are no limitations to God’s power and reminds us of God’s abundant love.

Submerge (4th-8th grade): Sundays at 10:30am on Zoom. We continue diving deeper into some familiar Bible stories with “13 Very Bad Days, and how God fixed them.” This week we’ll look in the book of Jonah to see how he dealt with his bad day and learn that even when we’re not perfect, God forgives us. Have a Bible handy and another hard cover book.
Submerge / Tween Time: This week we’re meeting on Friday at 6:00pm to hang out, play some games, connect and help each other thru this time of social distancing. See email from Karen for details.

High School Discussion: Sundays at 11:45am on Zoom. Last week we discussed miracles, laws of nature, the age old question “if God is all powerful can he [insert something here like ‘make a round square’]?” and the rationality of creation, among other deep thoughts that came up in A?k Because Your Questions Matter.  This week’s topic: Origin and Evidence
Key Concept: God has put enough into this world to make faith a most reasonable thing and God has left enough out to make it impossible to live by sheer reason alone.
Key Verse: "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." —Hebrews 11:1
