H.O.P.E. University Returns November 3rd

H.O.P.E. U.png

As our church mourns the passing of Pastor Dean, we know there is no better way to honor his legacy than to continue the educational ministry that he founded.

We now look forward to resuming H.O.P.E. University classes on

Wednesday, November 3rd at 10:00am in Room 203 at Hope Central Campus.

Pastor Bruce will lead a 12-week series on the publication “The Freedom of a Christian”, written by Martin Luther in 1520. We celebrated the 500th anniversary of Luther’s writing of this document last year, and in honor of this milestone, the ELCA has asked churches to reread and study this document.

Luther wrote this document at a time when he was still hoping to reconcile his beliefs with the Roman Church, and sent this document, along with a letter, to Pope Leo X in an effort to summarize the entire Christian faith. For this reason, the document is not only worth studying, but still relevant to Christian living today.

The ELCA provided the webpage elca500.org, a 12-week study guide, and a link to a free PDF of the document. You may access a link to the document here.

If you choose, you can also purchase the book from Augsburg Fortress for $14.99.

Even if you don’t wish to read the document, feel free to come to class anyway as we slowly study this important Lutheran document.

As always, classes will be livestreamed and archived for those unable to attend. We will begin the series in November and December, take a break over the holidays, and continue in January and February 2022. Stay tuned for exact dates and more information.

Disciples’ Faith Grows stewardship information is coming soon!

How has your faith grown? Although things are starting to return to a more normal state, we are still not there yet.

However, our faith remains. Our faith grows as we look to the future and use the gifts God has given us.

This coming week, you will receive our stewardship materials in the mail. Please review them and prayerfully consider your support.

Sharing your Giving Plan for 2022 is very important as we move forward and plan for the upcoming year.

Please keep an eye on your mail and check for any Stewardship documents from the church. Because of ongoing postal delays and changes, your items many come at any time.

If you do not receive your stewardship information in the mail by October 27th, there will be copies available at the Hope Central office.

CNW_3D_cover.jpg

Have you or a loved one just been diagnosed with cancer? Are you dealing with the wide range of medical, emotional, relational, and spiritual challenges that cancer brings?

Cancer—Now What? is a book to give to those with cancer and their loved ones. It provides useful information written in a warm, conversational style full of practical ideas to encourage and empower readers throughout their journey. Giving this book to those facing cancer is a powerful, meaningful way to offer tangible care and support during a difficult time.

Books are available in the Information Hallway or entrances to each campus and have an envelope included for your donation. Our Stephen Ministers make this book available. If you would like more information or someone to travel the journey with you, contact Pastor Bob Knepel at (352) 445-8216 or Kathy Smith at (352) 399-5103.
