PARISH UPDATE | October 17, 2020

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2020 | 11AM MASS This Sunday our parish will recognize Agnes Guiselin as a recipient of a 2020 Sr. Dorothy Stang, SND Award from the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Each year the Archdiocese selects winners who demonstrate the values of Dorothy Stang:

  • solidarity with the poor
  • care of the earth
  • and a love for Jesus and His mission

Agnes passionately demonstrated these values through her mat ministry, which involved developing a process for weaving sleeping mats for the homeless out of recycled plastic shopping bags. These mats have been distributed through St. Vincent DePaul.

Let's join together to congratulate Agnes for the excellent example she has provided for our entire parish.
During this sixth week, we focus on Rights and Responsibilities. Human beings, created in the image and likeness of God, have basic rights which protect our dignity and ensure all can live a full human life. Because these rights are universal, we have the responsibility to help maintain and protect these rights, not just for ourselves, but for all. Under this principle fall issues such as access to quality education, healthy food, healthcare, safe and affordable housing, and nonviolent neighborhoods.

The 40 Days for Life campaign is happening now: Sept. 23rd - Nov. 1st. We invite you to come out to the sidewalk in front of 1401 E. Stroop Rd. in Kettering to pray for the moms, dads, babies, and workers who are entering the abortion facility. There are so many other options available to moms and you are a sign of hope & love when you are present.  The vigil runs daily between the hours of 7am until 7pm, and we are asking for just 1 hour of your time.  Please give prayerful consideration in light of our call to stewardship and the giving of our time, talent, and treasures. As often is the case, the giving of our time blesses both those we serve and ourselves.
