"Inspiring students to love God, their Catholic faith and learning"

Don't forget, $1 Dress Down Day Friday, October 18 for Hurricane Relief.

Parent-teacher conferences will be on Wednesday, October 23rd from 3:30-6:30 PM and Thursday, October 24th from 1:48-7:30 PM. Communication between home and school is extremely critical to providing an effective instructional environment for our children. As we prepare for parent-teacher conferences, we look forward to your insights regarding your child’s education and input about the school year. As a parent, you provide valuable information for your child’s teacher so they can better address your child’s needs. Our teachers genuinely appreciate your support to your child in his/her education while at home.

Parent-teacher conference forms will go home with your youngest student on Friday. Please return this form with your youngest student by Monday, October 21st. Please print clearly on the form. We will do our best to accommodate your time requests and get your forms back to you as quick as possible.

Holy Moment Prompts

Holy Moments

Holy Moments Created Last Week by St. Peter Families and Students:

***A school family bought tokens to ride the carousel at the Columbia Mall and gave them to a family eating lunch there.***

WWJD?? He would create a Holy Moment!! Jesus would create Holy Moments through love, forgiveness, prayer, blessings, caring for the sick, feeding the hungry, seeking God, fleeing from temptation, reading the Bible, and going to Church.

What is a Holy Moment? A Holy Moment is a single moment in which you open yourself to God. You make yourself available to Him. You set aside personal preference and self-interest, and for one moment you do what you prayerfully believe God is calling you to do.

How can families participate?

  1. Parents and guardians, talk to your children about Holy Moments and why you think that Holy Moments are important.
  2. Brainstorm and write down as many ideas for Holy Moments as you can think of to do as a family or individuals at school or work.
  3. Try your best to perform a Holy Moment everyday.
  4. Talk about your Holy Moment as a family.
  5. Share your individual or family Holy Moments with Mrs. Garner through email: sgarner@stpeterjc.org.
  6. Holy Moments shared with Mrs. Garner will be posted in the School Newsletter. This can be anonymous if the family/student chooses.
  7. Those families/students who share their Holy Moments will receive a choice item from the Holy Moments treasure box that includes small fun items/snacks.
  8. Each month a family will be drawn who submitted a Holy Moment and that family will receive a $25 script card of their choice.

Those who chose to sign their child(ren) up for the Cole County Flu Clinic will receive their flu vaccine on Thursday, October 24. Please be sure to use age-appropriate reminders and be honest with your child(ren) about what to expect when receiving a shot.

If you missed the opportunity to get your child(ren) signed up, flu vaccines are offered at doctor's offices, pharmacies, or the health department. The first and most important step in preventing flu is to get a flu vaccine each year!

Hello, My name is Amy Brauner. I was born and raised in Jefferson City. I attended St. Joseph Cathedral, Helias, and Lincoln University. I have a degree in elementary education with an emphasis on early childhood education.

My husband, Mike, and I have been married for 26 years. We have three children/adults: Logan (24), Carson (21), Maggie (17), and a Havanese named Cooper. All of my children are St. Peter Alumni.

This is my 26th year at St. Peter teaching English and literature to jr. high students. I am blessed to call my co-teachers my best friends.

In my spare time, I like to cook, bake, read, shop, and spend time with my family. My favorite season is fall and my favorite bible verse is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me”.

This year, our school is undergoing its five-year accreditation process, and we invite you to participate! On November 11, 2024, at 5:30 p.m., we’ll hold a meeting in the school cafeteria to review the standards, and we’d love your help.

There are many ways you can contribute during this important process, such as:

  • Providing snacks and drinks for the visiting accreditation team
  • Assisting with accommodations for the team
  • Creating a video with audio highlighting our school
  • Sharing your input through surveys which will go out next week

If you're interested in helping, please get in touch with Felicia Hubble fahubble@gmail.com, our self-study coordinator. Your participation makes a difference! We anticipate the time commitment of serving on the self-study committee to more than 2-3 meetings.
