Wednesday was a purposeful day on and off campus. Freshmen participated in Frosh Day of Service—providing direct service to our community at food banks, eldercare sites, public gardens, parks, and other opportunities; Sophomores participated in a Career Day with our Alumnae; Juniors took the PSAT; and Seniors had a virtual College Application Workshop. A big thank you to all of our Alumnae that presented at the Career Fair!

Dear Carondelet Community,
This upcoming week, we are celebrating the time-honored tradition of Homecoming Week! Carondelet and De La Salle student leadership is proud to present the theme, The Greatest HoCo of All Time. Our students have been hard at work this past month to provide a week filled with fun lunchtime activities, dress-up themes inspired by our favorite G.O.A.T.S. in Pop Culture, as well as celebrating many of our shared traditions together.
Monday, we will start the week off with collectively crowning our Carondelet and De La Salle Homecoming Court at lunch in the Carondelet Amp.
Tuesday, we have our Carondelet and De La Salle Carnival at lunch. We will have lots of games, prizes, and the Kona Ice Truck!
Wednesday, we will have our annual Cougar Bowl Football game, a friendly flag football competition between Junior and Senior girls at lunch. Coached by Carondelet Faculty and Flag Football Team Players, we know this is a can’t-miss event. We're especially excited for the halftime performances from Cheer and JV Dance!
Thursday is our Student/Teacher Volleyball game at lunch in the DLS Gym. Carondelet Students and De La Salle Faculty will go up against De La Salle Students and Carondelet Faculty.
Friday, we have our Rally immediately after 6th period. Every year, we switch locations, so this year we have the Frosh/Soph rally at Carondelet and the Juniors/Senior rally at De La Salle. Make sure to go all out in your class colors!
Why not have one “big game” when you can have two? De La Salle also invites you to the Homecoming Football Game on Friday night, where they will face off against San Ramon Valley High School. We will have a special joint performance from both Varsity Cheer and Varsity Dance, and a final presentation of the Homecoming Court at halftime!
Lastly, we can’t wait for students to attend the dance on Saturday. Our theme is The Greatest Night of All Time! Freshmen and Sophomores are at Carondelet, and Juniors and Seniors are at De La Salle. Tickets are now $50, and will be $55 at the door, so make sure to grab your dance tickets today!

Celebrating Self-Love
This October, our Wellness Team is celebrating self-love: recognizing our worth, embracing our individuality, and offering ourselves the same kindness we so freely give others. As young women, our students constantly receive messages about who they “should” be. Self-love reminds us that we don’t have to be perfect to be worthy. Instead, we can embrace ourselves as imperfect, growing, beautiful humans. As Dolly Parton reminds us, “Find out who you are and do it on purpose.” This month, we invite your daughters to celebrate exactly who they are. Please encourage them to check out our Cannon Events Calendar for daily offerings.
| | | | | The City of Walnut Creek will be conducting road and pavement repairs for the next few weeks starting this week. The roadwork will affect Treat Blvd starting at Bancroft and ending at Winton, as well as Bancroft Road from Mayhew to Ygnacio Valley Rd. Please allow extra time to get to school in the morning if your commute is affected by this roadwork. | | | Homecoming/Spirit Week Dress Code Reminder | | |
All outfits must align with basic dress code expectations: shirts with sleeves that fall below the waistline, shorts/skirts mid-thigh or longer, and closed-toed shoes. Leggings are permitted all week.
The dress code for the dance on Saturday is semi-formal. Questions about semi-formal attire can be directed to the Deans or Director of Student Activities.

Want to Learn?
Pull up a chair and pick up a tile! The Carondelet Alumnae Association invites you to join us at our first gathering on:
Monday, October 19 | 7:00–9:00 PM
Jean Hofmann Center for Innovation
All alumnae, parents of alumnae, current parents and grandparents are invited, so feel free to share; just make sure each person submits an individual RSVP.
What to expect: Please come knowing the basics and ready to play through a game. All tables are independent play, but a few players will be on hand for quick questions about the card or a rule. We're not teaching lessons (or claiming to be experts!), but we're happy to help each other out. We will have small bites, drinks, prizes for our winners, and a raffle!
If you are interested in a class, please reach out to Lea Harrington. If there is enough interest we will set up some lessons with an instructor.

The St. Marty’s Party Collection Drive has Begun!
Every year, we host children from the Monument Crisis Center, Community Youth Center, and Contra Costa Foster Friends for a Halloween Extravaganza. This is one of Carondelet’s longest traditions in which we directly serve and celebrate our community partnerships. We rely on donations and volunteers to help make this event happen. See photos from previous years on SmugMug.
Each 5th period is encouraged to bring in donations like bags of nut-free candy, stuffed animals with the tags, children’s books (ages 5–13), as well as monetary donations. We also have a Target Wishlist, and those donations will be sent directly to the school! Please note: in the gift message portion, please write your student’s name, as well as their 5th Period Teacher.
