October is Fire Prevention Month
Check your Smoke Alarms
According to the National Fire Protection Association almost three out of five home fire deaths were caused by fires in properties with no smoke alarms or smoke alarms that failed to operate. A working smoke alarm cuts the risk of dying in a house fire by almost half! Please make sure you test your smoke alarms to ensure that all of them are functioning properly.

Domestic Violence Awareness Walk

Welcoming South Center
Family Justice Center
The Family Justice Center prioritizes supporting DV/IPV survivors in their communities. Access to a local Family Justice Center reduces travel stress and expense for families and helps strengthen local community networks. In more affluent areas, domestic violence victims face unique challenges as abusers wield their money, power and influence to assert control within relationships. Furthermore, immigrant victims face daunting challenges in seeking help. Many are unaware of available resources while others find themselves entirely reliant on their abusers for essential support.
With these challenges in mind, we are working on opening a fourth Family Justice Center in Danville. After a planning process that included community-wide participation and design help from Danville architect and City Councilmember Newell Arnerich, we’re delighted to announce that our new South Center will open its doors November 1st!
