Happy Thanksgiving! October is here and although we have all had a challenging year due to the Covid pandemic, we have so much to be thankful for. We have family to lean on. We are a part of an amazing church family. We have friends who love us. We have food on the table. God has truly blessed us.
God has been so faithful to us at Marysville Baptist Church. After nearly 18 months of visioning, deliberating and consulting with the church, we can celebrate together our new name: BRIDGE CHURCH. I am thrilled with how our church family overwhelmingly approved a new name and governance structure at our business meeting this past week. God has been and continues to be at work among us! This is the beginning of a bright future together.
The one thing I am most thankful for is the salvation we have in Jesus Christ. Jesus gave His life sacrificially on the Cross for the salvation of all people. He became the BRIDGE between a Holy God and sinful man. Jesus bridged the gap so that all peoples of the earth could enter into a personal and intimate relationship with a God who is deeply in love with us. This truly is a message of hope to the hurting world around us. God has given us as his children the blessing and opportunity to be a bridge to the city around us.
One of the easiest ways to share the good news of Jesus is through social media. We are working with Brent Brewer from Essential Studios in developing a new Bridge Church Website and social media presence. We have started the process and it should be ready to go live early in the new year.
Our Special Thanksgiving Offering will help offset the cost of the website. Our goal is to raise $5000 between our Thanksgiving and Christmas Offerings. If you would like to give towards this worthy project, please designate your donation on your offering envelope or online giving as “Thanksgiving Offering” by the end of October. We so appreciate your support.
2 Corinthians 9:11: You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
Lamentations 3:22-26: The faithful love of the Lord never ends![b] His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!” The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him. So, it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.
John 3:16-17: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Pastor Jason
