CTT Update:

Important Reminder:

Special Assembly, Sunday, October 26, after the Divine Liturgy.

Please read carefully the letter that was sent to all Parish families about this Special Assembly. This letter is your official notice. Please read carefully because it states clearly that we need to vote on funding for the structural issues, architect funding for further development of Plan C, and the funding for our fundraiser. We have the funds, but we need parish approval to release these funds.

Thank you for your patience as we navigate this complicated journey!

Lending Library

NOTES FROM THE LIBRARY:

Spiritual Counsels of Saint Paisios (6 vol. set) now available! St. Paisios the New (1924-1994) was one of the most loved and revered Elders of our times. Living as a monk on Mount Athos, he spent his nights in prayer and his days guiding, consoling, healing, and giving spiritual rest to countless people who took shelter in him. The wise spiritual counsels of the Elder have been collected in these six volumes under the following titles: With Pain and Love for Contemporary Man, Spiritual Awakening, Spiritual Struggle, Family Life, Passions and Virtues, On Prayer.

Please email the library if you have any requests or questions, we'd love to hear from you.

Fellowship

REMINDER:

Do you enjoy a nice cup of coffee and a piece of pastry following each Sunday’s Divine Liturgy? Of course, you do. That’s why we’re asking those who have not sponsored a Sunday fellowship hour in a while to please sign up for the many opening dates available. We all like to chit-chat with our fellow parishioners with a coffee in-hand. So, please step forward. It’s real easy…..all you need to bring is some pastry (nothing fancy) and a gallon of milk. The church supplies the rest (napkins, plates, cups, etc.). If you have questions, just call the church office.

Thanks much for answering this appeal. We all will appreciate and thank you.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Winter coat drive October 1-December 7 Coat Boston

Want to help families in need but unsure how to help?

Participate in the coat drive sponsored by Coat Boston between October 1 and December 7! Coat Boston is a program based in Lexington dedicated to providing new winter coats, hats and mittens, to children and adults in need living in underserved areas in the City of Boston. Housed in space provided by Hancock Church in Lexington, Coat Boston works with Boston Public schools and Boston’s social service organizations to provide coats to families that otherwise might not be able to buy them. The program was established in 2009 by City Mission Society of Boston and moved to Lexington three years ago when City Mission permanently closed its doors. In the last two years, close to 2,500 new coats and accessories have been distributed. This year we hope to collect 2,000 coats because we anticipate a higher demand as families struggle with increasing economic challenges.

More information about this important work and ways to donate may be found at our website coatboston.org. New coats and accessories can also be dropped off in the church hall no later than December 7. Please help us bring joy and warmth to our neighbors in need in Boston!

BluePearl Pet Hospital Moving!

As many of you know, I am not only your Stewardship chair, but I am also an Emergency Veterinarian. My hospital, BluePearl Waltham is closing and moving all of our staff to BluePearl Framingham (located on Rt. 9). Below is an advertisement for our upcoming Open House on October 25th - whether you have a pet (dog or cat) of your own and want to learn more about the specialty care we provide or just want to see what the inside of an veterinary hospital (compared to a human hospital) looks like, we encourage everyone to stop by!

Sincerely,

Alexis Papathanasiou (Dr. Alexis Zallas, DVM)
