HSC Client Reunited with Friend in New Mexico

Jack, a 57 year-old man, recently arrived at the Brian Garcia Welcome Center. He was homeless for over two years after his wife left him and with all of the money from their bank account. Jack obtained a bed in CASS for emergency shelter. He made contact with a friend in New Mexico who was willing to provide shelter and food while Jack worked on a longer term plan. HSC Staff spoke with Jack's friend and confirmed it was a safe, stable environment for him. HSC Staff purchased a bus ticket to Farmington, NM where Jack is now staying with his friend and looking for employment. Like thousands of others experiencing homelessness, Jack hopes to soon have a place of his own to call home.
