Celebration Season: Kickoff Pitch-in Picnic on Sunday October 11th

Fall is a time of harvest and giving thanks for our many gifts from God. At Church we rejoice by reflecting on what it means to be Good Stewards and help support the work of God’s Church here at Saint Michael’s.

On Sunday October 11th we will have a special Celebration Kickoff Pitch-in (Potluck) Picnic outside after the 10am service.

- Chicken, lemonade, punch and water will be provided.

- If you can, please bring a side, salad, dessert or snack.

- Please text RSVP by 10/8 to Theresa Okerson (317)900-2141 or Janet Manning (317)345-9974 so we can prepare.

Jesus said, “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. (Matthew 5:14, 15 NIV)

Trunk or Treat?!

If you wish to participate in the event on Saturday, 10/31/26 at 5:30, there is a sign up sheet in the Narthex. People can either donate candy or small water bottles. Feel free to dress up if you wish as well. Held on the circular drive out front. Our annual community event.

Thoughts from Our Priest

Stewards of God’s Creation

God’s creatures and critters are everywhere. We are constantly surrounded by life. Creation is arguably God’s greatest ongoing miracle. We often welcome animals into our lives. Most people adore a cute dog, pretty kitty, majestic horse or a beautiful deer. We dearly love our pets and often treat our furry family members better than ourselves. However, certain critters can be unwanted guests. Not too many folks roll out the red carpet for opossums, snakes, or ants. Pesky flies or spiders may be a nuisance. We typically do not like animals that get in our gardens, garages, or trash bins. Although, it just seems there is no way to keep out God’s many different creatures.

Then God said, “Let us make humankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” (Genesis 1:26)

Genesis makes it very clear. We are called to be good stewards of all God’s creation, whether they are precious puppies or ugly mice. We are constantly invited (even mandated) by God to take into account all in our ecosystems. We are created to make sound and wise decisions concerning our earthly environment. In fact it could be argued that being a steward of God’s creation is our primary role in life.
