U.S. News Named NDMU a Top 10 Best Value School in the Regional North


Notre Dame of Maryland University (NDMU) continues to gain recognition for educational excellence and value by placing #10 on the Best Value Schools list in the northern region in the 2026 U.S. News Best Colleges ranking. This ranking places NDMU as #2 for best value in Maryland.


NDMU also listed in the top 50 of the Best Universities in the Regional North, advancing 16 spots from last year and ranking fourth among Maryland institutions. The University was the top school in Maryland on the Top Performer on Social Mobility list, ranking #22 in the northern region. This measure highlights institutions that graduate high numbers of students with financial need.

NDMU Celebrates 130 Years of Educating Leaders to Transform the World


Notre Dame of Maryland University celebrates 130 years in Baltimore as a premier higher education institution dedicated to educating leaders to transform the world. In 1895, the School Sisters of Notre Dame established NDMU as the first Catholic college in the United States to award women the four-year degree. There are multiple opportunities for the NDMU community to come together and reflect on the University’s rich 130-year legacy during this milestone anniversary year

Natalia Bautista Bonilla Received Yumi Cares Foundation Scholarship



The Art Therapy Department was pleased to have supported second year graduate student, Natalia Bautista Bonilla, as she received the first-ever Yumi Cares Foundation scholarship for art therapy graduate study during the recent biennial Yumi Cares Foundation Gala 2025. Former Maryland State Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Nancy Grasmick and former First Lady, Yumi Hogan, presented Natalia with the scholarship which will support a portion of her graduate program tuition needs for 2025-2026. Mrs. Hogan has long been a fervent supporter of licensed art therapy practice and practitioner training in the state of Maryland, and through her foundation, has advanced the critical role art therapists can play within medical treatment for those battling cancer.
