As those of you who attended last month's UCCTU Annual Meeting saw, the Chapter operated at a deficit last year. Nevertheless, due to our (limited) financial resources, we were able to carry on our mission. Just as with our Federal government, deficits are not sustainable. As we enter our new UCCTU year, please make your voluntary dues contributions. I am especially excited about our upcoming fundraiser on November 6 (see below)and will be disappointed if we aren't scrambling for every spare chair at Ippolito's.
We can all be thankful for the energy invested by many of our long time volunteers as well as members who recently have stepped up to leadership positions. We welcome Gerry Mecca as Secretary and Director, Ron Cheslock has an enthusiastic following for our Fall trip (see below), Chris Smith now produces the "Newsline", and Bill Lott has stepped up to help organize our water quality testers, to name just a few.

Fly Fishing Film Tour Fall Fundraiser
November 6th at Ippolito's
This year is the start of our new fundraiser. We will be getting together to watch the 2013 F3T films and bid on many auction items that have been donated by generous people around the state like River Through Atlanta, Atlanta Fly Fishing School, Alpharetta Outfitters, Unicoi Outfitters, Blue Ridge Fly Shop, Fern Valley, and many more. Soaring Eagle Lodge in New Mexico was also nice enough to donate a 3 day trip on the San Juan. The event will be a great way to raise money and give people the chance to bid on some great trips and new gear.

Guide's Corner- Chris Scalley
The Chattahoochee River tail water below Buford Dam is unique in that our brown trout spawn is later than most trout fisheries. A combination of a mild climate and shortened photo period causes our brown trout to actively spawn from late Fall around mid October through early Winter into mid January. Continue Reading Here
