Winter is coming - are you ready?
The American Red Cross has some suggestions to prevent your pipes from freezing
Winter, along with its freezing temperatures, will be here before we know it. There are some steps you can take to prevent the pipes in your home from freezing. Check out the American Red Cross website on Preventing Frozen Pipes Preventing and Thawing Frozen Pipes at

Every Winter, the District receives calls from residents whose neighbors' homes show signs of a water leak due to frozen pipes.  If a leak is confirmed by District staff and there is no one home, the water service to the property will be shut off at the curb stop.  This will result in a $25 charge to the property owner for the shut off and an additional $25 charge to restore water service.
Board Selects District Manager
During its September 9, 2015 Special Meeting, the Board of Directors selected Leon Gomes as the District's full time District Manager beginning September 15, 2015.
Leon Gomes
The Board began its process of searching for a full time, employee District Manager during its July 16, 2015 Regular Meeting by appointing a search committee consisting of District Board President Kim Griffin, District Director John Bruszenski, and District Legal Counsel Jennifer Gruber Tanaka.  The search committee posted the District Manager opening on the PBHMD, Special District Association of Colorado, and Colorado Rural Water Association websites.  The resumes received for the position were reviewed by the search committee, finalists were selected, and interviews with the finalists were conducted on September 1, 2015.

Gomes had previously managed PBHMD as an employee of Special District Management Services, Inc. (SDMS) when the Board contracted SDMS to manage the District beginning June 1, 2013. SDMS will continue to provide accounting and customer billing services to the District.  Gomes will serve at the direction of the District's Board of Directors in his overall PBHMD management duties.
