Greetings Culinarians and Associates,

Garde Manger Demo Follow-up

For those of us that attended the fruit and vegetable carving seminar at Bates on Saturday were treated to a fast paced class that lasted a little over four hours and could have gone another four according to the evaluation sheets that were turned in.  The class had about 45 participants and Chef Ray Duey kept everyone focused on not only his carving abilities but on his stories.  The only negative thing that could be said about that day was the torrent of rain and wind that came down after the class.  Special thank you to Chef's Roger and JJ for allowing us to have this seminar at their school on a Saturday.  Very much appreciated.

Regional Conference 2016

Our next Regional conference(ACF Signature Series ChefConnect) will be in Hawaii on April 3-5, 2016. Check the website for information about this conference and plan ahead to attend in one of the most beautiful spots in the world.

AAC Dinner - March 5th, 2016

Start planning for our AAC dinner that will be hosted by Chef Michael Baldwin at BTC on March 5th.  Check the chapter's website for updated information as it draws closer.  Michael has arranged great rates at a local hotel for those traveling who do not want to drive after the dinner.

Annual Holiday Dinner & Silent Auction

Come join us for dinner and help support our ACF Washington State Chefs Association Apprenticeship Program. It is all happening on November 9th at the Clearwater Casino! Don't miss our holiday dinner and silent auction. Also, annual elections will be held at this meeting. If you could bring some items for the auction that would be great! We are in need of gift cards, gift baskets, trips, hotel and casino packages, dinner gift certificates, and of course any culinary items. If you are able to procure a gift, please drop it off before the auction starts. We will be setting up at 4pm. The auction starts at 6pm during our reception and ends at 7pm. Gary Fuller is in charge of the silent auction. Gary can be reached at [email protected]

Please make sure to come and vote so your voice is heard. Costs are $40.00 for students, $45.00 for members and $50.00 for non-members.  Board meeting 4pm to 6pm, reception and silent auction 6-7pm, elections 7-7:15 and dinner 7:30 to 9:00pm.  Address and directions are on the website.  Get more info and pay online at the meetings webpage .

The Near Future

2016 will be an exciting year.  We start the process of creating a one of a kind event for the Governor's Ball that will take place in January of 2017.  Lots of meetings and planning go into this event and we will keep you informed on the progress.

It has been a short two years since I took office as the president.  I made the decision to continue if approved by the membership for another two years.  I feel that I have not completed what I wanted to do during my term.  I hope that you allow me to continue as president of this great organization.  Thank you.
