What is the meaning of life, mezzotint, crumpled paper, sound card, 2016, 13.5" x 11.5" |
 |
October
"Twenty Questions and Other Works on Paper" by Ron Meick, will be on view in the Mezzanine Gallery from October 7-28. Watch the Meet the Artist video with Meick or stop in during his opening reception on Friday, October 7 from 5-7 p.m. Meick received a 2016 Individual Artist Fellowship in Works on Paper.
"Twenty Questions" refers to the title of a series of prints in the show and is a playful reference to the game in which questions are asked about an object to discover its identity. The series explores the meaning of an art object and the artist's role in creation. "Twenty Questions" contains twenty works each with a mezzotint, a crumpled piece of paper, and a button that plays a soundtrack. Other prints on view incorporate the printmaking plate into the finished piece.
The Mezzanine Gallery is open weekdays, 8 a.m.-
4:30 p.m. and is located in the Carvel State Office Building, 820 N. French Street, Wilmington.
