San José Hosting Meeting to Discuss Potential Modifications to the Affordable Housing Impact Fee Program

When the City Council approved the AHIF program, they also directed staff to analyze and report on issues and concerns related to imposing the Fee on three different types of developments that include:
- Developments of 19 or less units;
- Mixed-use (combination of residential and non-residential) projects; and
- Assisted living/memory care facilities for seniors.
The analysis is nearly complete and the Housing Department is hosting a community meeting to discuss the results of the analysis and the initial draft recommendations. To obtain detailed information on the Affordable Housing Impact Fee Program, please visit the City

Roy and PJ Hirabayashi, founders of San José Taiko, will receive the Cornerstone of the Arts Award. Steve Borkenhagen, owner of Café Stritch, will receive the Business Support for the Arts Award. Anne and Mark's Art Party will receive the Creative Impact Award. Fiscal Year 2016-2017 City of San José Office of Cultural Affairs' grantees will also be recognized for their contributions to San José's cultural life.

The City of San José is exploring a Community Choice Aggregate (CCA) program, San José Clean Energy (SJCE). CCA allows local governments to pool (or aggregate) their electricity load to purchase and/or develop renewable power on behalf of their residents and businesses.
