"Webster Bank is committed to living up to the communities we serve," said Ann Meade, Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking at Webster Bank. We do this in part by supporting the Arc of Greater Plymouth, an organization that provides critical support for our developmentally challenged neighbors and their families. The people of Arc are true heroes in our community and we are honored to partner with them."

"Cool Gear International is honored to be a member of the Plymouth community and with that honor comes responsibility.  As a business leader, we are responsible for promoting the rights of those that are challenged to do so on their own.  Arc's programs and services allow our families, friends, and neighbors with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to reach their developmental goals through meaningful engagement in society.  This gift of inclusion is something that we can all be grateful for."

Important Message to Massachusetts Families
With Children Under Age 9
Diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder
Open Registration October 17th, 2016 to October 31st, 2016

The Autism Division of the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) runs a Autism Waiver Program that provides one-to-one interventions to help children with autism who exhibit severe behavior, social and communication problems through a service called Expanded Habilitation, Education (intensive in-home services and supports).
The Waiver is now able to serve 385children and while the Autism Waiver Program is near capacity at this time, there are always children who leave the Program because they turn 9 or for other reasons. Therefore, we want a current applicant pool to draw from when these spots become available for the Program. Therefore, the Autism Division is offering an opportunity to apply for the waiver through an open request application period. The Autism Division held its last open request registration in October, 2015. The open request period runs from October 17th - October 31st. Please be sure to MAIL or EMAIL the application between October 17th and October 31st. The Autism Division will discard submissions outside of this timeframe.  If you submitted an application during the last open request application period in October 2015, YOU MUST RESUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR 2016.

To accomplish this goal a partnership was established with Southeast Wildlands Trust, Inc. where the team is maintaining two sustainable living garden beds at their headquarters on Long Pond Road in Plymouth, grooming a trail across from the headquarters and becoming stewards of their butterfly gardens where they are advocating for and helping accomplish a wheelchair ramp for greater accessibility, increasing inclusionary opportunities, visibility, awareness and contributions without barriers for the whole community.

WE ARE THE PEOPLE/VOTE
Ages 18 & up -  The Arc of Greater Plymouth is very excited to be offering a new adult  life skills program facilitated by Kathy Dunn. Kathy Dunn is a former  guidance counselor at Duxbury High School. She also serves on the  DDS CAB and League of Women Voters.

The purpose of this bipartisan voter education program and interactive
discussion is to raise awareness of the importance of voter participation  in elections. Participants will discuss the process of voting,
where and how to vote as well as be shown a mock ballot.. We will also  talk about the national , state and local Republican and Democratic  candidates as well as discuss ballot questions.
In the second series of this program participants will fill out a voter
registration card that will be sent to their respective towns. The towns
will confirm their registrations by mail and tell them which polling
place they should go to. We will also go over any questions anyone
may have moving forward. The last day for voter registration in MA
is October 19th. read more...
