Did you know that October is SIDS Awareness Month?

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is extremely important to early care providers because it is the leading cause of death of infants between one month and one year of age. In the United States, approximately 20 percent of SIDS deaths occur while the infant is under the protection of a child care provider.

ChildCare Education Institute offers CCEI117: Sudden Infant Death Syndrome as a beginner level course designed to increase knowledge about SIDS and to inform early care professionals of risk reduction strategies. If you haven't already, all child care providers should consider taking this course.
