Words from your Director...

This is always an exciting time of year at POP.  The weather is cooling and we are loving being able to play outside.  We are entering a season filled with festivities and fun with Trunk-or-Treat and Tile Painting right around the corner!

I am personally so excited to celebrate the preschool this Saturday evening as we recognize 50 years of service to our amazing community!  A planning committee has worked tirelessly to put this event together.  I hope to see you there!

As always, we thank you for sharing your beautiful children with us.  It is truly a blessing to be able to spend our days with them.

Warmly,
Nicole Hilden

Cheers to 50 Years, a Golden Jubilee!
Prince of Peace Preschool is 50 years old!  We are having a celebratory party on Saturday, September 30th, at 6:00PM.
The deadline to purchase tickets online has passed, but we will be selling tickets at the door.
We hope to see everyone there!

 Tile Painting

The POP fall fundraiser of tile painting is underway! These tiles are a wonderful memory to share on the POP wall, use as a gift, or enjoy in your home. Payment and order forms were due  September 29th. If you have questions, please contact Lauren Morstad at  morstadlm@gmail.com

For painting to run smoothly, each purchaser will need to sign up for a painting slot. Slots are 30 minutes each and limited to one slot per child. This format is to let YOU choose the time that best fits you or your child's schedule. In addition to the regular morning and school hour availability, evening slots have been added.

Use the link below to reserve a painting slot:

Tile Painting needs many volunteers to help run the event. In order to have a successful painting experience, volunteers are needed to assist during the painting time slots as well as provide supplies. If you are able to do so, any help is more than appreciated!

Trunk-Or-Treat!!!
The Prince of Peace annual Halloween event, Trunk or Treat, is right around the corner! Come Trick or Treat at one of many artistic cars, grab dinner at one of the food trucks, come to socialize with POP families, and enjoy some early Halloween fun!

The best part of Trunk or Treat are the themed cars. Children and parents love seeing the creative vehicles so sign yours up to be a part of the event and hand out treats!

Along with volunteering to decorate your car, there are many opportunities to help make the event exciting. Join in the fun and help prep the party!

The next committee meeting will be held on  Thursday, October 5th at 9:15am

Shoes Needed!
Shoe Drive
Through the end of October, Prince of Peace Preschool and Prince of Peace Church are teaming up to collect shoes for UMOM New Day Centers.  UMOM is a nonprofit working with those experiencing homelessness here in our community. https://www.umom.org/
Donation Information:
  • NEW shoes or very gently used shoes ONLY. All sizes (infant-adult)
  • Sneakers and casual boots/shoes are the most needed.
  • Drop-off to the preschool office on your way into school. We will have a wagon for you to put the shoes in.
Thank you for your donations!
Safety Reminders
As the school year continues to progress and parents become more and more comfortable with our campus and community, some safety issues may begin to arise.  We would like to take this opportunity to remind all parents of the following:
  • Please do not leave your children unattended in your vehicle.
  • When you pick up your child, be sure to take their attendance card to their teachers and hand it to them before taking your child.
  • When you drop your child off in their classroom, be sure to make verbal contact with the teachers in the room.  This simple step can help eliminate attendance roster mistakes and ensure that all children are accounted for at all times.
  • Please keep your children home when they are exhibiting signs of illness. Help us keep the kids healthy!
Thank you for helping us keep your children safe!  Providing a safe learning environment is our number one priority.
Illness Reminders
We appreciate how diligent our families are in helping us keep POP as illness free as possible.  Thank you for keeping sick children home and for reporting illnesses to us.

As a reminder, children must be fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medicine before they may return to school.

Please know that we take the health of your children very seriously.
Columbus Day - School Closed
Please note that school will be closed on Monday, October 9th for Columbus Day.  We will have care available for those who have already signed up.
Spirit Day!  Wear your POP shirt!
Tuesday, October 31st will be our first Spirit Day of the school year.  Please have your child wear their orange POP shirt on this day!
