Donate Items to Auction at our Annual Fundraiser
Our annual chapter fundraiser is coming up on Tuesday, October 24th and we are still collecting donations. If you have any items...gift cards, fishing gear, gift baskets, sporting gear, etc., that you'd like to donate you can bring them to the event.

This is your event and it can only be a success if everyone takes ownership.  Check with Denny Desmond and let him know what donation you'll be bringing and if you can help during the evening of the event: [email protected] or 770-992- 9242.

Remember, that UCCTU supports many local and regional conservation groups and youth activities with the money raised at the fundraiser. Please give us a hand and make our 2017 Autumn on the River event the biggest and best ever!
Former UCCTU President Honored
Congratulations to our former chapter president Mack Martin who received the Distinguished Service Award for Youth Education at TU's National Award Banquet in September. Mack has been a strong advocate for youth education in Georgia for many years and is heavily involved in our state's Trout Camp program.
Southern Trout Shootout
Southern Trout Magazine is offering a chance for UCCTU to win one of five Thomas & Thomas fly rods for a future raffle or next year's annual fundraiser. The contest winner from our area (GA/SC-15 chapters) will be the chapter that signs up the most chapter members, non-members anglers, family members or friends by December 10.

Winning chapters in five state regions will be announced on December 15. If you already receive the magazine, don't worry, you may still help us win by entering your information on the form on their site. Be sure to include UCCTU as your chapter. Their subscriber list program will automatically remove your duplicate email address. Go to SouthernTrout.com to enter your information.

Since many of our chapter members are heading up to Cherokee for our fall trip, his shop decided to offer our members a 10% discount on all purchases, including guide trips! This discount is good through the end of the year.

Go ahead and mark your calendars for November 11 for this fun one-day tournament upcoming. All information about this event can be found here, including the registration information.
Fall Chapter Trip to Cherokee
This year, our fall trip will be to Cherokee, North Carolina from November 2 - 5. Emails have been sent out detailing this event and provided information on fishing, licenses, lodging, restaurants and other activities in the area. If you did not receive the email or would like another copy, please send a note to [email protected]
If you've never fished Raven Fork, the Nantahala, Little Tennessee, the Tuckasegee, Cullasaja or Snowbird Creek you've missed some of the best fishing in this part of the country. Early November is a great time to hit these rivers. Be sure to come on this great trip. Reservations at area hotels and motels are filling up fast with travelers and late season leaf watchers so you are highly encouraged to book your room reservations ASAP.

Information on who's going and how to connect with them will be sent out to all attendees before the trip. Plan to fish with old friends and someone new. We'll be meeting up for dinner each night to swap stories and show pictures.

See you up in Cherokee!
RHS Fishing Club Update
Through a generous UCCTU donation of $1,000 matched fully by the Georgia Council, our Roswell High School Fly Fishing Club will be able to purchase new gear for their members (rod sets, boots and waders).

The equipment will be owned by our chapter, but will be housed at the school for use by the RHS club members. If you'd like to join in and help with a future fishing event, contact Jim Harvey, club advisor at 404-933-5976.

The Sale Table
The Sale Table introduced at the September meeting was a big hit with members. Gear donated by a former chapter member sold quickly and raised money to help fund our many chapter activities.

If you have an extra rod, reel, vest or other item that you'd like to donate, put it on the table (in January) with a price tag for the amount you'd like to see it sell for. All monies generated from the sales will go into our general chapter fund for educational and conservation activities.
