It's All About Relationships at UCP!
At the heart of all we do at UCP—no matter our title or the nature of the work we do—is our desire to develop, build, nurture, and sustain healthy, empowering relationships… with the individuals and families we support, among our colleagues and peers, and in partnership with our friends and allies in the community around us.

This fall, UCP has taken an active role in sharing the many facets of this relationship-building as part of a social media campaign spearheaded by PAR (Pennsylvania Advocacy and Resources) under the hashtag #ItsAboutRelationships -- make sure you are logged into Facebook first.

If you haven’t done so already, we encourage you to follow our Page to see the many ways UCP is affecting positive change in the lives of the people we work alongside and support.
Fun Without Limits
One way UCP staff are growing closer as a team is by creating occasions both in and outside the workplace to bond and to share and celebrate our successes. The most recent such relationship-building opportunity was the Second Annual UCP Staff and Family Picnic which was held on Saturday, September 29 on the grounds of Adventure Park in Mechanicsburg. For a quick peek at the fun time we had, watch this!

Gift Wrap- Support this Season!
UCP’s annual Holiday Gift Wrap event is fast approaching and we invite you to join us at the Capital City Mall from December 3rd to 24th to celebrate the season! We have a wide selection of festive holiday wrap, ribbons and bows -- so let us help make this holiday season a little easier by wrapping your gifts! Our booth will be located at Center Court (between Macy’s and Santa’s workshop) and we will be accepting nominal donations.  Every donation we receive helps UCP continue to provide exceptional services to the individuals and families we support.

Another way you can support UCP is to volunteer at our gift wrap booth. The booth is all volunteer run, seven days a week, throughout the month. We still have a few shifts open, for individuals or groups. Hours vary by week, so check out the link at right to see the schedule and sign up!

"Black and White" Magic Night
Respite Services
We are gearing up for the 2019 Magic Night Gala and it’s never too early to save the date for our premiere fundraising event! This year’s Black and White Gala will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Hershey Country Club. If you've attended before, you know guests will enjoy a scrumptious dinner, fine drinks, great music, and spectacular auction items—and back by popular demand music by The Uptown Band.

Magic Night is our night to come together and celebrate our common goal of providing a life without limits to everyone in our community, while also celebrating how our differences make us who we are.

Whether you need time to get away for work or personal reasons… or you simply need time to rest… UCP can help. We have a long, proud history of evolving with—and responding to—the needs of the community. Through our respite services, we are seeking to satisfy an unmet need by providing yet another level of support to family members who serve as primary caregivers for a loved one with a disability.

Evening Respite offers care and recreation for children and adults with disabilities on Fridays from 6-10pm. We accept all age groups and siblings as well. This program is currently being offered on Friday evenings only, but may be expanded, based on consumer demand. The location of the respite site alternates from week to week.
