Volunteer with Fresh Arts at BCAF & WHAM!

Bayou City Arts Festival Downtown
As the nation's premier outdoor fine art event, the three-day festival will feature music, food trucks, beverages, entertainment, a Children's Creative Zone and much more.
Volunteers will be entered into a raffle and have the chance to win a prize at the end of their shift! Additionally, volunteers receive complimentary entrance to the festival and discounted parking.
Plus, we are giving all of our BCAF volunteers a free 3-month Fresh Arts membership, which includes a free ticket to the WHAM preview party on November 16, 2018.
Fresh Arts Winter Holiday Art Market
It's that time of year again where we host our annual Winter Holiday Art Market (Nov 16-18, 2018), affectionately known as WHAM! If you haven't heard, this year is our final year of WHAM, so we'd like to go out with a bang!
*But we can't do it without volunteers like YOU!*
Volunteers will help with various shifts & tasks, before, during, and after the WHAM festivities (November 16-18).

M-AAA FY20 Artistic Innovations - Letter of Intent

Artistic Innovations grants support the creation of innovative new work by artists working in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas.
With generous support from the National Endowment for the Arts, M-AAA distributes grants of up to $15,000 to underwrite the direct expenses related to the art-making process and the public premiere of work. Designed to encourage experimentation and collaboration, Artistic Innovations grants are available to artists and nonprofits working in all disciplines.
FY20 grants will be for projects taking place between July 1, 2019 and June 30, 2020. The application process begins with a Letter of Intent which is due close October 15, 2018.

HAA - City Initiative's Grant
by Houston Arts Alliance
Deadline: October 26, 2018 // 5:30 PM
City's Initiative (CI) grants provides one-time funding to City of Houston 501(c)3 arts/cultural nonprofits for new opportunities that (1) are not part of the applicant's annual budget or regular programming/annual events, and (2) promote cultural tourism. Examples include the opportunity to present an artist or performance that was not included in an annual season or an unanticipated invitation to perform or exhibit (as part of a conference or meeting being held in Houston). Awards are restricted to artistic and marketing costs with $10,000 as the maximum amount awarded.
A preliminary meeting is required-at least 48 hours from a City's Initiative deadline-for organizations looking to make application.

The Idea Fund
Funded by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts
Deadline: October 29, 2018
The Idea Fund provides cash rewards at three distinct levels: Spark ($1,000), Catalyst ($4,000) and Stimulus ($7,000). Every grant recipient will be required to hold one public event or outreach activity in the Greater Houston Area and to submit a final report by the end of the year. The Idea fund is a competitive process. Grant recipients are chosen by a panel of arts professionals and past Idea Fund grant recipients.
