Fall IPD: one-handed design challenge

Online voting begins November 20! Eight Integrated Product Development student teams from Stamps Art & Design, Ross School of Business, College of Engineering, and School of Information will be vying for your vote for their innovative designs for devices for daily tasks operable with only one hand.
"The [IPD] course was a huge eye-opener. I learned a lot from my teammates and even other teams. It was great preparation for for the team project and I still use a lot of the concepts today."

David Chesney wins Neubacher Award

Congratulations to former Tauber advisor David Chesney, recipent of the 2018 Neubacher Award! The award honors U-M alumnus James T. Neubacher, who was an advocate for equal rights and opportunities for people with disabilities. It recognizes U-M faculty, staff, students or alumni who demonstrate a commitment to making the campus welcoming and accessible to people of all abilities. Chesney encourages students to reimagine how learning and living can be designed for those affected by a disability through his popular engineering course, Gaming for the Greater Good.

Tauber welcomes Ron Johnson to the IAB

The Tauber Institute is pleased to welcome Ron Johnson as Ford Motor Company's representative on the Tauber Industry Advisory Board. Prior to his current role as Director, America's Quality, Ron was Regional Director for Purchasing STA Asia Pacific, responsible for supplier quality and delivery, and achieving best ever numbers for the supplier metrics.

Mariel Lavieri receives funding from Veterans Affairs

IOE Associate Professor and Tauber advisor Mariel Lavieri recently received funding from the Department of Veterans Affairs for her research to improve care for the prevention of cardio-cerebrovascular disease by utilizing the large longitudinal datasets available.
